This is an On Call position We have a fantastic position for a Cook in our new restaurant Ristorante 51. Responsibilities As a Cook you’re on the first rung of the ladder to becoming a great cook. This is your big chance to learn all there is to know about your trade. Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food. Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables. Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist. Prepare cold foods. Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers. Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently. Monitor food quality while preparing food. Set-up and break down work station. Serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles. Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment. Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food. Core Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients and cook food according to recipes and quality and presentation standards, including preparing cold foods and operating kitchen equipment. Maintain food quality and safe temperatures, set up and clean the workstation, and sanitize kitchen areas, tools, and equipment.
Requirements
Candidates should have at least one year of experience, be fluent in English, and have a genuine passion for food. The ideal candidate is flexible, creative, organized, adaptable, able to work under stress, interested in all kitchen areas, and motivated to grow within the company.
