Design Academy Eindhoven, a well-known educational design institute, is looking for a Instructor Workshops Plastic. What will you be doing? As our Instructor Workshop you will be responsible for the guidance of the students in their design assignments, supervision and management of the workshops. You seek to harmonise and connect with education and your workshop colleagues and associated companies. With regards to the quality of the facilities on offer, you take initiatives to improve them and submit your proposals to the Workshop Team Coordinator. Proposals for improvements will be in the areas of user-friendliness and opportunities for finishing materials, technical feasibility, cost price, working conditions, health and safety and environmental impact. You will develop instructional materials and you plan and organise demonstrations and instruction meetings. What will you bring to the team? Higher vocational education intellectual and professional level and /or relevant qualifications; In-house emergency basic certificate; Preferably 2-5 years of relevant experience; Experience in higher vocational education is an advantage; Pedagogical and professional didactic knowledge and skills; You have experience in working with plastics and: you have demonstrable knowledge of the basic casting/moulding, modelling and/or vacuum forming techniques. knowledge of the variety of properties and possibilities of the different thermosets and thermoplastics. you understand the various machining and finishing techniques for plastics. Independent, proactive and flexible attitude; Knowledgeable and skilled in the planning and organisation of the work processes and developing instructional materials; Communicative and customer-friendly skills and attitude; Proficient in both spoken and written Dutch and/or English; You have the right documentation to work in the Netherlands and are able to provide a VOG certificate which we will request for you. Alongside this you’ll receive: A year contract for 16-24 hours per week; A salary within the range of €3.353,32 and € 4.595,29 gross per month based on 36 hours; Reimbursement of your public transport costs or a kilometre reimbursement of €0,25 per kilometre; A workplace within the centre of Eindhoven. Within walking distance from the train station and a parking spot next to the building; A holiday allowance of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.3% and other conditions in accordance with CAO-HBO; A good pension scheme (ABP) and room and attention for you as a professional. Your future colleagues/team You will be working independently in a team of 2-3 instructors in the Plastics Workshop. In this the team you support and guide students in the use of different forms of plastic. This to realize their projects and provide basic training for the use of machines and tools available within the workshop. Core Responsibilities

Guide students in design assignments and the use of plastics, while supervising and managing the Plastics Workshop and providing basic training on its machines and tools. Improve workshop facilities and processes, develop instructional materials, and plan demonstrations and instruction meetings in collaboration with education colleagues and associated companies.

Requirements

Applicants should have higher vocational education-level knowledge and skills or relevant qualifications, preferably with 2–5 years of relevant experience; experience in higher vocational education is an advantage. They need practical knowledge of plastics and processing techniques, pedagogical and organisational skills, an independent and flexible approach, Dutch and/or English proficiency, an in-house emergency basic certificate, and the right to work in the Netherlands; a VOG certificate is also required.
