For an international client in the Maastricht region, we are looking for a Senior BI & Databricks Specialist with a strong combination of business understanding, data architecture expertise and hands-on technical skills. You will join an international data and analytics environment where BI, Data Engineering and Data Science come together. You will translate complex business needs into scalable data and BI solutions and play a key role in defining architecture, standards and best practices. Details Start: ASAP End date: 30/04/2027 Region: Maastricht (your home is based max 1hr drive from Maastricht) Hybrid: 2 days per week onsite in Maastricht Employment: Full-time Language requirement: English Challenges Translate strategic business needs into scalable BI and Data Science architectures Design enterprise-grade BI solutions, data models and analytics architectures Define and safeguard standards for data modelling, governance, security and solution design Shape and prioritize the analytics roadmap together with key stakeholders Design and optimize end-to-end data flows within Data Warehouse/Lakehouse environments Provide technical guidance to BI Developers, Data Engineers and Data Scientists Review and optimize complex SQL and Databricks solutions Collaborate with Product teams, Business Analysts and Architects within a SAFe Agile environment Advise on new functionalities, integration patterns and improvements across the BI and data landscape Must haves Minimum 9 years of experience within Business Intelligence, Data Analytics and/or Data Engineering Minimum 8 years of hands-on BI experience Excellent and demonstrable Databricks expertise Strong experience with Power BI Advanced SQL knowledge In-depth knowledge of Data Warehouse/Lakehouse and ETL/ELT architectures Experience with dimensional modelling, semantic layers, governance and enterprise security Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure and/or AWS Strong knowledge of SAFe Agile Who are you and what can you bring? You are a senior data and BI professional who looks beyond dashboards and reporting. You understand both the business context and the underlying technical architecture and can translate complex requirements into scalable and sustainable solutions. You have strong experience with Power BI, Databricks, SQL and modern cloud data architectures. You also have an affinity with Data Science and AI/ML, including machine learning, data mining and LLM-related applications. You communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, maintain a helicopter view across different teams and initiatives, and are strong in stakeholder management. You are structured, analytical and comfortable taking on an advisory role. A Master's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field is preferred. Core Responsibilities

Translate strategic business needs into scalable BI, data, and analytics architectures, and define standards for data modeling, governance, security, and solution design. Shape the analytics roadmap, optimize data flows and technical solutions, and guide cross-functional teams while collaborating with stakeholders in a SAFe Agile environment.

Requirements

Requires at least nine years of experience in BI, data analytics, or data engineering, including at least eight years of hands-on BI experience, with strong Databricks, Power BI, SQL, and cloud data platform expertise. Candidates should have in-depth knowledge of data warehouse/lakehouse and ETL/ELT architectures, modeling, governance, security, and SAFe Agile; a relevant master's degree is preferred.
