Join us at Hillebrand Gori – a company of DHL Global Forwarding Introduction Being specialized in alcoholic beverages, we offer a full range of transportation services and options, from full container loads to groupage shipments, from large volumes of bulk wine to small consignments via airfreight. Our logistics services allow our customers to transport exactly what they want, when they want, in a cost-effective way. To support our continued growth and digital transformation, we are expanding our software development team with a T-SQL developer with C# or C++ knowledge. In this role, you will join our software development department of 35 professionals covering analysis, development, and testing. You will work on our main transport management system, helping us make the application future ready, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions The team is highly autonomous and works closely with Product Owners to build in-house, business-driven applications. Our architecture is API first and cloud native, using Angular and Microsoft Azure, with Apigee for API management and Okta for identity and access management. Design, Develop, and maintain the T-SQL code within the MS SQL server environment, ensuring high performance, data integrity, and security Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for data extraction and manipulation Optimize database performance through indexing strategies and query tuning Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members Write and maintain technical documentation What do we expect from you? Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field 3+ years of experience in MS SQL server development Experience with version control systems (Git) Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Experience with Agile development methodologies Experience with CI/CD pipelines Extra; Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure) or willing to learn Good command of the English language (spoken and written) Currently living in The Netherlands within a normal commute of Haarlem Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in C# for REST API development OR C++ for front-end application development What can you expect from us? Core Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain T-SQL code, including complex queries, stored procedures, and functions, ensuring performance, data integrity, and security. Optimize database performance, participate in code reviews, and maintain technical documentation for the transport management system.

Requirements

Applicants need a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, plus at least three years of Microsoft SQL Server development experience. They should have experience with Git, Agile methods, and CI/CD pipelines, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and good written and spoken English; Azure knowledge and C# or C++ experience are additional advantages.
