Job Description
Objective Lead the sales and operations planning process from a distribution inventory perspective, ensuring regional warehouses hold the right stock to meet commercial commitments while minimizing risk and obsolescence. The role links sales inputs, gathered from Key Account Managers, country customer service teams, direct customer interactions, and other relevant commercial channels, with the global supply chain across local operations and procurement. As part of a European Group structure, the role requires close collaboration with commercial and operational stakeholders across multiple countries and regular engagement with customers to align demand expectations, service requirements, and supply capabilities. It defines stock targets, replenishment policies, and forecast volumes to achieve service and cost objectives. The SIOP Planner reports hierarchically to the local Supply Chain Manager and functionally to the Group SIOP Manager. Key activities & accountabilities Own the distribution inventory plan within the S&OP process, including forecasting volumes for stocked and assemble-to-order products, setting stock targets by SKU/customer/region, and maintaining a rolling 18-month sales forecast based on commercial inputs, customer requirements, and market developments. Translate commercial agreements and blanket orders into executable supply chain plans by defining stock policies, replenishment frequencies, and safety stock levels. Partner with Key Account Managers and customers to validate service expectations and incorporate product launches, phase-outs, and special projects into forecasts and inventory plans. Act as a key planning contact for strategic customers and European commercial stakeholders, supporting customer discussions, validating demand assumptions, and ensuring alignment between customer expectations, inventory strategies, and supply chain capabilities. Collaborate closely with Global Supply Planning to ensure timely replenishment of regional warehouses and maintain inventory parameters within ERP systems to reflect changing market conditions and supply constraints. Proactively manage inventory risks by identifying slow-moving, excess, and potentially obsolete stock, implementing corrective actions, and providing consolidated demand-supply analyses and risk assessments as input for SIOP/S&OP reviews. Experience Typically 3–5 years of experience in demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, or customer supply chain within a B2B distribution, industrial, or manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience maintaining medium- to long-term sales forecasts and translating commercial inputs into demand, inventory, and replenishment plans. Practical experience with SIOP/S&OP processes, including forecast reviews, demand–supply alignment, inventory risk assessment, and performance monitoring. Proficiency with ERP or planning systems used to manage forecasts, planning parameters, safety stocks, and replenishment settings. Proven cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Key Account Management, Customer Service, Operations, and Procurement preferably within a European or international matrix organisation, coordinating planning activities across multiple countries and interacting with both internal stakeholders and customers. Experience analysing forecast accuracy, service levels, and excess or obsolete inventory to drive corrective action. Profile Degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, engineering, economics, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will be considered. Strong end-to-end supply chain understanding, from procurement and operations through distribution. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect commercial requirements and operational priorities, and to build effective relationships with customers and stakeholders across a European organization. Sound judgement in balancing service, cost, inventory, and risk. Data-driven, action-oriented, and comfortable leading cross-functional discussions. What do we offer you?
