Team The GWAN & Network Services Squad is responsible for delivering the base network monitoring and observability infrastructure, consumed by other teams to build their network monitoring. You are also the subject matter expert on the network observability stack’s new features and help with new implementations. The position is a DevOps role and requires building and working with containers, infrastructure as code, automation with Ansible, knowledge on the ELK stack or Prometheus, Telegraf & Grafana. Role You will innovate and participate in agile work processes such as stand-ups, sprint reviews, and planning. Together with the Product Owner, the team (Squad) works on common goals and a shared backlog. You will take care of all reporting and guide the squad in the right direction to improve the services and satisfaction. You are not shy in supporting the other squads within the area and our tribe. You feel comfortable in a role as a trusted advisor. We use video and collaboration tools to facilitate the communication process. Competencies – Skills Have experience in network monitoring (e.g. InfluxDB, Prometheus, Elasticsearch , Telegraf, Logstash, Kibana & Grafana) Have experience in orchestration platforms (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Saltstack, Chef, Puppet, Azure Automation, Google Cloud Deployment Manager, AWS Cloud formation etc.) Have knowledge of Cisco Routing & Switching (level CCNA/CCNP) Have experience with load balancers (e.g. F5) and firewalls (e.g. Checkpoint, Palo Alto) Have ability to clearly and succinctly express ideas, facts and opinions Can adapt to new situation and alter behaviors to work effectively Can complete tasks and achieve results in an efficient, timely and high-quality manner You'll Get Extra Points For Experience in scripting in one or more of the following languages: Python, Bash, PowerShell, JavaScript Ability to identify problems, analyzing key information and making connections, in order to find appropriate solutions Being an active team player who takes responsibility and ability to coach others to help their individual development Competencies - Behaviors The mindset of openness and willingness to try new ways of working and technologies End-to-end ownership mindset Active team player who takes responsibility Independent and autonomous in completing tasks The mentality of continuous improvement of the service and way of working Reflects upon behaviours and performance to proactively identify improvement areas Strong problem solver to structure and improve complex situations Coaches' others to help their individual development Your education and background Professional and intellectual IT ability at least a bachelor’s degree Certifications or proven proficiency in Networking, CI/CD or NetDevOps Certifications or proven proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages Excellent command of spoken and written English Rewards And Benefits We want to make sure that it’s possible for you to strike the right balance between your career and your private life. Core Responsibilities
Build and maintain network monitoring and observability infrastructure, including container-based solutions, infrastructure as code, and automation. Advise teams on observability features and implementations, contribute to agile planning and reporting, and help improve services and team practices.
Requirements
The role requires professional IT capability at least at bachelor’s degree level, networking knowledge comparable to CCNA/CCNP, and experience with network monitoring and orchestration tools. Candidates should also have proficiency or certification in networking, CI/CD, NetDevOps, or programming and scripting, along with strong communication, adaptability, ownership, and teamwork skills.
