About the role
As a Regional Account Manager, you will act as the owner of your customer portfolio and serve as the primary contact for mid-sized industrial B2B customers in the confectionery and bakery segments, with additional exposure to dairy and ice cream. You will be responsible for driving sustainable growth in both volume and margin, building strong customer relationships, and creating long-term value through innovation and the expansion of the Specialty portfolio. This position covers the West Holland and Utrecht region and reports to the Sales Manager Regional Accounts.
This is a permanent, full-time, hybrid role based in the Netherlands. The role requires frequent travel within West Holland and Utrecht and occasional travel to Wieze, Belgium.
Key responsibilities
- Achieve commercial targets for the Regional Accounts portfolio across West Holland and Utrecht.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships and create account plans in collaboration with the Sales Manager and cross-functional teams.
- Lead sales activities including prospecting, customer visits, needs assessments, contract negotiations, and revenue generation.
- Identify opportunities to expand the customer base and increase market penetration.
- Coordinate internal stakeholders across functions including R&D, Technical Support, Pricing, Customer Care, Demand Planning, and Supply Chain.
- Secure accurate customer forecasts and ensure effective communication with internal planning teams.
- Provide market insights, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and ensure high-quality reporting and data analysis.
- Operate in accordance with internal commercial policies and applicable trade legislation.
- Continuously develop market knowledge, business expertise, and understanding of the global organization.
Your profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience, preferably within the B2B food industry.
- Knowledge of the chocolate or food manufacturing industry is an advantage.
- Fluent English and Dutch language skills.
- Experience working with CRM systems such as Salesforce.
- Strong commercial skills including relationship building, listening, presenting, and negotiation.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and analytical skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and complex business environment.
- Persistent, solutions-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable making pragmatic decisions under ambiguity.
- Willingness to travel frequently within West Holland and Utrecht and occasionally to Wieze, Belgium.
