As a Mechanical Architect, your role is essential in contributing to challenging business cases and technical roadmaps from a mechanical perspective and in a multi-disciplinary context. In this role, you support our customers in the high-tech industry with developing cutting-edge equipment, both in the Brainport region and internationally. Together with experts in mechanics, mechatronics, electronics, software, and mathematics, you will bring high-tech solutions to life, such as advanced lithography machines, compact electron microscopes or medical devices that automate human tissue analysis. From our office in Eindhoven and sometimes at our clients' premises you like to keep yourself busy with: Close collaboration with customers, fellow architects, the Project Manager, Account Manager, and the broader project team to ensure alignment and synergy. You translate customer needs into specifications, define mechanical architecture, budgets, and conceptual designs of (sub)systems. Specification of test and integration requirements to complete the V-model development cycle and ensure product design quality. Building and maintaining internal and external networks to support organizational growth and success. Drive innovation by introducing new technologies and solutions, applying theoretical principles in practical project contexts. Lead by example, motivating designers and engineers to take ownership of their deliverables. As an Architect Mechanics, you manage broader, more complex scopes of work, including stakeholder management, technical leadership, and guiding larger multidisciplinary teams. Sounds good so far? We'd love to tell you more… Your future workplace This is what you bring to the table MSc or PhD in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering. Proven track record in mechanical design within high-tech systems and/or equipment. 10 to 15 years of experience in mechatronic and precision system design, depending on seniority level. Broad multidisciplinary orientation, understanding how mechanical expertise integrates within complex systems. Strong analytical and abstract thinking skills, with proficiency in various analysis methods. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders. Recognized as a technical leader and inspirational coach, with deep theoretical and practical knowledge in technical design, mechanisms, precision mechanics, and Design for Excellence (DfX). Core Responsibilities

You will define mechanical architecture, budgets, and conceptual designs while ensuring alignment across multidisciplinary teams. Additionally, you will lead innovation efforts and mentor engineers to ensure high-quality product development within the high-tech industry.

Requirements

Candidates must hold an MSc or PhD in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering with 10 to 15 years of experience in high-tech system design. Strong analytical skills and the ability to lead complex multidisciplinary projects are essential for this role.
