Job Description

Job Responsibilities Responsible for managing Technical Application Management within the customer environment, providing support for Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL databases deployed across a hybrid environment (on-premises and cloud). Key Responsibilities Handle daily incidents across all priority levels and ensure tickets are resolved within the required timelines and SLA commitments. Manage service requests related to database administration and provide daily status updates. Create and implement Requests for Change (RFCs) and follow Change Management processes for database and middleware administration. Collaborate with other technical teams to provide support for daily operational activities and project-related tasks. Ensure the availability, reliability, and optimal performance of database systems through proactive and preventive maintenance. Restore services as quickly as possible in case of outages or degraded availability. Manage the implementation and deployment of application changes. Improve efficiency and effectiveness by standardizing and automating IT services. Provide services that focus not only on the database environment but also on the applications that use these databases. Provide strategic advice on the future development and improvement of database architecture. Design, implement, and manage High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions, while strengthening database security. Analyze and resolve incidents and service disruptions through corrective maintenance. Perform database and platform updates, coordinating with application vendors and/or underlying platform teams where required. Develop scripts for performance monitoring, availability checks, and operational health checks. Deploy database updates and security patches. Keep operational and administration procedures up to date, including escalation procedures. Perform trend analysis related to usage, performance, capacity, and impact on service delivery. Perform database administration activities, including table, tablespace, and index reorganization, as well as resolving data inconsistencies. Required Skills and Knowledge Must-Have Skills: Azure database platforms: Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Azure Database for PostgreSQL. Database cloud security measures, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and auditing. Strong experience in Oracle Database Administration, preferably Oracle 19c and above. Strong knowledge of T-SQL scripting. Microsoft certification in Database Administration / SQL. Soft Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. Strong team player who works effectively in a collaborative environment. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.

Core Responsibilities

The Oracle DBA SME is responsible for managing and supporting Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL databases within a hybrid environment. Key duties include resolving incidents, implementing database changes, ensuring system availability, and designing high availability and disaster recovery solutions.

Requirements

Candidates must have strong experience in Oracle Database Administration, specifically version 19c and above, along with proficiency in Azure database platforms. A Microsoft certification in Database Administration or SQL is required, complemented by excellent analytical and communication skills.
