The Role As a Senior Backend Engineer at Xebia, you'll be embedded in client teams, designing and building high-quality systems from the ground up. You'll have strong opinions on how software should be built: and you'll use them. Core Responsibilities

Design and build durable, maintainable backend services and distributed, event-driven systems within client teams. Review code and architecture, promote engineering best practices, and integrate AI where it adds genuine value.

Requirements

Candidates need at least five years of backend engineering experience and deep experience with Kotlin, Java, Scala, or Go. They should value testing, clean code, and continuous delivery, be familiar with AI tools and large language models, communicate clearly with engineers and stakeholders, and currently live in the Netherlands.
