About The Job Are you an experienced Patent Information Professional with a passion for scientific innovation and intellectual property? Do you enjoy uncovering insights from complex patent and scientific information to support innovation and strategic decision-making? We are looking for a Patent Information Professional to join the Global Patent Team at Danone Nutricia Research in Utrecht. In this highly specialized role, you will provide critical patent intelligence and scientific insights that help protect and strengthen our innovation pipeline. As Patent Information Professional, you will serve as a trusted partner to Patent Attorneys and R&I stakeholders, delivering high-quality patent intelligence and strategic insights that support innovation and intellectual property decisions. Your responsibilities include Conducting advanced patent searches including patentability, novelty, freedom-to-operate, validity, and competitive intelligence searches. Developing patent landscape analyses, technology watch activities, and strategic patent reports across food science, packaging, processing technologies, and related innovations. Supporting patent opposition, validity assessments, and litigation-related information gathering. Monitoring patent activities and emerging technology trends, providing timely alerts and actionable insights. Managing and maintaining patent information databases and knowledge management systems. Analyzing, interpreting, and communicating complex search results in a clear and business-relevant manner. Collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders across Research & Innovation, Legal, and Intellectual Property teams. Meet your future manager! About You In order to be successful in this role, you are able to work in a dynamic international environment and with international technical documentation. You have creative & practical problem-solving skills, and you are able to respond fast with high accuracy. You also bring A recognized Patent Information Professional qualification (PIP certification) or equivalent qualification in patent information and searching. Demonstrated experience conducting advanced patent searches and analyses using professional patent information platforms and databases. Strong understanding of patent law concepts, including novelty, inventive step, patentability, and freedom-to-operate assessments. Experience working with patent information systems and databases such as Orbit Intelligence, PatSnap, STN, Questel, or similar platforms. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. It would be a plus if you have A Master's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, Biotechnology, Engineering, or another relevant scientific discipline. A PhD or advanced scientific research background. Experience working within an R&D-intensive or innovation-driven environment. Experience delivering training and knowledge-sharing sessions to technical and non-technical audiences. One Health We Offer The salary range for this role is €66.000 – €82.000 gross annually (including 8% holiday allowance). Core Responsibilities

Conduct advanced patent searches and develop patent landscapes, technology watches, and strategic reports across food science, packaging, processing technologies, and related innovations. Support patent opposition and validity work, monitor emerging trends, manage patent information systems, and communicate actionable insights to Patent Attorneys and cross-functional R&I, Legal, and Intellectual Property stakeholders.

Requirements

Candidates need a recognized Patent Information Professional qualification or equivalent, demonstrated experience with advanced patent searches and professional patent information platforms, and a strong understanding of patent law concepts. They should have excellent analytical, problem-solving, accuracy, and English communication skills; a relevant scientific master's degree, PhD, or R&D experience is an advantage.
