We are currently seeking an experienced Commissioning / Site Manager (m/f/d) Offshore Substation Start date: ASAP | Duration: ~ approx. mid-2027 | Location / Assignment location: Onshore Netherlands & Offshore Baltic Sea | Contract type: Freelance / B2B You will support a major offshore wind project in the north of Europe. The assignment will initially focus on onshore activities at a fabrication site before transitioning to the offshore project phase. The role covers the transition from onshore completion activities to offshore activities, including the preparation, coordination, and supervision of commissioning activities for an Offshore Substation (OSS). As part of your role, you will be entrusted with the following responsibilities: Coordinate closely with the client, fabrication yard, contractors, and relevant project stakeholders throughout the commissioning phase Review, evaluate, and coordinate carry-over works and outstanding activities to be completed offshore Prepare and coordinate offshore commissioning and hook-up activities for the Offshore Substation Supervise the offshore hook-up and commissioning team Monitor commissioning progress, outstanding works, interfaces, and priorities to support safe and efficient project execution Ensure effective communication, coordination, and reporting between onshore and offshore project teams and relevant stakeholders Does your profile meet most of these requirements? Technical education or degree, e.g. electrical, mechanical, marine, or energy engineering Several years of experience in commissioning or site management within offshore wind or a comparable offshore environment Solid experience in offshore commissioning and supervising multidisciplinary teams Offshore Substation (OSS) or comparable offshore platform experience is highly desirable Good understanding of commissioning, hook-up, carry-over works, and completion processes Strong English communication skills Structured, hands-on approach with strong coordination and leadership skills Certificates: Minimum required certificates: Valid GWO Basic Safety Training package (First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling, Sea Survival incl. Core Responsibilities

Coordinate commissioning activities with the client, fabrication yard, contractors, and project stakeholders, including reviewing carry-over work and preparing offshore commissioning and hook-up. Supervise the offshore team and monitor progress, outstanding work, interfaces, priorities, and communication between onshore and offshore teams.

Requirements

Requires technical education or a degree in a relevant engineering field and several years of commissioning or site management experience in offshore wind or a comparable offshore environment. Candidates should have offshore commissioning and multidisciplinary team supervision experience, strong English and coordination skills, and valid GWO Basic Safety Training and an offshore medical; Offshore Substation experience is highly desirable.
