Job Description

As an intern in the Data & Analytics Engineering team, you will support ING Analytics department in the development of the Repo Scanner (Repo Radar) platform, helping analyze repositories and generate insights on technology usage, code quality, and dependencies. You will contribute to both rule-based and intelligent (agentic) scanning while gaining hands-on experience with modern developer tools and cloud-based systems. The team The Repo Scanner (Repo Radar) team focuses on improving visibility and standardization across engineering teams by analyzing repositories and creating actionable insights. The team collaborates with platform and product squads to build scalable solutions and enhance overall engineering quality within ING. Role And Responsibilities Support the development of the Repo Scanner (Repo Radar) platform, focusing on both rule-based and intelligent (agentic) repository scanning capabilities. Collaborate on integrating scanning workflows into existing platforms (e.g., ADO Pipelines, GitHub Agents, GCP) to enable automated, scalable execution. Explore and apply GenAI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot) to accelerate implementation and improve developer productivity. Support repository onboarding processes, including access setup, analysis of repository structures, and identification of relevant metadata in ING platforms. Building and improving rule-based and intelligent logic leveraging LLM-based and agentic approaches to extract and organize insights from Azure DevOps and GitHub repositories. Develop and maintain data pipelines and staging logic to structure scan outputs into a scalable code catalog / data storage layer for further analysis and reporting. Support the design and development of dashboards and visualization layers (e.g., using Python-based frameworks and/or Looker) to present insights such as technology landscape, language distribution, security findings, and GenAI usage. Contribute to research and implementation of new features (e.g., code quality checks, test coverage, dependency analysis, and security-related insights). Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements, refine scanning capabilities, and translate ambiguous needs into actionable technical solutions. How To Succeed Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related field. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of Python programming, experience in other programming languages (e.g., Java, Scala, or JavaScript) is a plus. Familiarity with version control and repositories (e.g., Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps). Interest in software engineering practices such as clean code, code quality, and testing principles. Interest in AI/LLM-based systems, with familiarity about agentic approaches. Curiosity about modern developer tools such as GitHub Copilot or Microsoft Copilot. Strong communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and international team environment. Requirements

Applicants should be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related field, and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Python knowledge, familiarity with Git-based repositories, interest in software engineering practices and AI/LLM systems, and strong communication and attention to detail are sought; experience with other programming languages is a plus.
