You are the go-to expert on payroll processes, local regulations and the connection between People data and payroll outcomes. You play a key role in building a scalable payroll model that grows with the organisation — balancing local compliance with operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Own end-to-end payroll operations across all Aceve countries Manage payroll changes, validations and month-end audits Ensure compliance with local employment law and tax regulations per country Maintain accurate employee records in HiBob relevant to payroll Act as primary contact for payroll vendors and local payroll partners Support the annual compensation review cycle from a payroll perspective Document payroll processes and build backup ownership across the team Identify and implement improvements to payroll accuracy and efficiency Support onboarding of new countries or entities from a payroll setup perspective Key Result Areas Payroll accuracy rate On-time payroll delivery Compliance score per country Audit findings Profile 4+ years of payroll experience in a multi-country European context Knowledge of payroll legislation in two or more Aceve countries (NL, SE, DK, NO, FI, DE, BE, PT) Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines Ability to work independently and flag risks proactively Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus Competencies Payroll Expertise Deep knowledge of multi-country payroll operations, local legislation and compliance requirements. Process Ownership Takes full accountability for payroll accuracy, timeliness and audit readiness. Risk Awareness Proactively identifies compliance risks, country-specific changes and payroll vulnerabilities. Collaborative Partner Works closely with Finance, HRBPs and external vendors to ensure smooth payroll delivery. Core Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end payroll operations across Aceve's European countries, ensuring accurate, timely payroll, compliant processes, reliable employee records, and month-end audits. Coordinate with payroll vendors and internal teams, support compensation reviews and new-country setups, and improve processes while documenting them and building backup ownership.

Requirements

Requires at least four years of payroll experience in a multi-country European context, knowledge of payroll legislation in at least two of the listed countries, and experience with HRIS and payroll systems. Candidates should be detail-oriented, able to manage deadlines and work independently, proactively flag risks, and be fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
