Job Description

SALES & CLIENT DEVELOPMENT INTRODUCTION: Founded by Wayne Sorensen, formerly Design Director for Orlebar Brown and Calvin Klein, Sørensen Yachtwear is a burgeoning brand focused on dressing crew of the most discerning superyachts. Catering to this rapidly-growing industry, we see an enormous opportunity ahead of us; our fashion pedigree and design-driven approach sets us apart from our peers. Our design studio and showroom are based in central Amsterdam, with production and logistics in northern Portugal. We value style and excellence, integrity and accountability, challenge and enjoyment, and take a long-term view of our relationships. The right candidate will have the opportunity to grow alongside the company. THE ROLE: We are looking for an experienced superyacht professional to grow our relationships and revenue across existing and new clients. You will take commercial ownership of an assigned portfolio, driving reorders, seasonal updates and wider adoption of the Sørensen collection. You will also use your industry knowledge, network and referrals to introduce Sørensen to new yachts and relevant decision-makers. Working closely with the Commercial Manager, you will manage opportunities from initial contact through to confirmed order, within agreed pricing and margin guidelines. This is a revenue-generating Sales & Client Development role focused on profitable growth, retention and new-client acquisition. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Own and grow an assigned portfolio of yacht clients through proactive relationship management with captains, chief stewardesses, pursers, yacht managers and owner representatives. • Identify and convert opportunities for reorders, replacements, seasonal updates, cross-selling and wider adoption of the Core Collection and bespoke services. • Reactivate dormant or declining accounts through targeted commercial follow-up. • Acquire new clients through your industry network, referrals, events and targeted outreach. • Manage opportunities from qualification and presentation through proposal, follow-up and confirmed order. • Maintain an accurate CRM, including pipeline status, customer history and agreed next actions. • Work within agreed pricing, payment-term and gross-margin requirements, ensuring client commitments are internally confirmed and achievable. • Remain the primary commercial contact while coordinating delivery and issue resolution with Product Operations, Design and Logistics. • Follow up after delivery to confirm satisfaction, identify further opportunities and encourage referrals. • Represent Sørensen at yacht shows, client meetings and relevant industry events. • Share customer feedback and market intelligence to support commercial, product and collection decisions. ABOUT YOU: You understand the realities of life onboard and how uniform decisions are made. You may be a former Chief Stewardess, Purser or senior onboard professional looking to establish a commercial career ashore. Alternatively, you may already work in a client-facing commercial role within the superyacht industry. YOU BRING: • Substantial superyacht-industry experience, with first-hand knowledge of crew uniforms, onboard operations and procurement. • A strong and relevant network across yachts, crew and management companies. • Evidence that you can turn relationships into qualified opportunities and commercial results. • The confidence and skills to initiate conversations, present solutions, negotiate and ask for the order. • A proactive, structured and resilient approach to account and pipeline development. • Excellent written and verbal communication in English. • Strong organisation, accountability and attention to detail. • The credibility and discretion to represent a premium, design-led brand. Previous responsibility for purchasing yacht uniforms, established relationships with yacht-management companies and demonstrable sales or business-development experience would be a strong advantage. SUCCES IN THIS ROLE: Within your first 12 months, you will have: • Taken commercial ownership of an assigned portfolio of yacht accounts. • Delivered agreed revenue and gross-margin targets from existing clients. • Increased reorder activity, product adoption and average revenue per active yacht. • Acquired new paying yacht clients through your network, referrals and prospecting. • Delivered a client experience that supports retention, referrals and long-term account value. Targets for portfolio revenue, new accounts, qualified pipeline, retention and gross margin will be agreed before commencement. Performance targets for pipeline value, new yacht accounts, collected revenue and gross margin will be agreed before commencement. If you are passionate about the superyacht industry and ready to turn your experience and relationships into commercial growth, we would be pleased to hear from you. Please email your CV and a short introduction outlining your superyacht experience, relevant network and commercial ambitions to [email protected].

Core Responsibilities

Own and grow a portfolio of yacht clients by driving reorders, product adoption, retention, and profitable revenue growth. Develop new business through industry relationships and outreach, manage sales opportunities through confirmed orders, and coordinate client needs with internal teams.

Requirements

Candidates need substantial superyacht-industry experience, knowledge of onboard operations and uniform procurement, and a relevant network across yachts, crew, and management companies. They should demonstrate commercial results, strong communication and negotiation skills, and a proactive, organized approach; prior uniform purchasing responsibility or sales experience is advantageous.
