DCS Commissioning Specialist - Ref. JOB-1595 Overview For a major industrial project in Rotterdam, we are looking for a Commissioning System Specialist / DCS Expert to join the site team during the commissioning phase. The successful candidate will support commissioning activities by ensuring the proper operation of the Distributed Control System (DCS), validating control logic implementation, and contributing to the successful start-up of the facility. Responsibilities Perform a critical review of the existing DCS architecture and configuration. Support site teams in the execution of DCS-related commissioning activities. Conduct and supervise control logic verification (Logic Checks). Participate in functional testing of equipment and systems. Carry out Loop Checks and monitor the resolution of identified issues. Verify consistency between engineering documentation and on-site implementation. Analyze technical deviations and propose improvements when required. Challenge existing design choices to optimize system performance, reliability, and operability. Provide regular reporting to the project and commissioning teams. Profile Degree in Automation, Instrumentation, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 10 years of relevant experience. Significant experience in industrial commissioning and DCS systems. Significant experience with YOKOGAWA's systems. Experience on complex industrial projects within the energy, chemical, petrochemical, hydrogen, oil & gas, or process industries sectors. Strong knowledge of DCS systems and control system architectures. Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken. Core Responsibilities

Review DCS architecture and configuration, support site commissioning, verify control logic, participate in functional testing, and conduct loop checks. Check that engineering documentation matches on-site implementation, analyze deviations, recommend improvements, and report progress to project and commissioning teams.

Requirements

Requires a degree in automation, instrumentation, control systems engineering, or a related field, along with at least 10 years of relevant experience. Candidates should have substantial industrial commissioning and DCS experience, particularly with Yokogawa systems, experience on complex process-industry projects, strong knowledge of DCS architectures, and fluent written and spoken English.
