Job Description Our batteries fly. Every cell you characterize, every pack you validate, and every test you automate contributes to real-life battery systems. The data you generate helps us understand battery performance, improve our products, and make sure what we produce meets our standards. Tulip Tech designs and manufactures high-performance battery systems for drones and electric aircraft. We are now scaling from prototypes towards higher-volume production, which means our testing needs to scale with us. Why this role matters As production volumes increase and new production lines come online, we need to automate more of the testing process - from controlling test equipment and collecting measurements to storing, analysing, and visualising the data. You will help us build that automation. This is a hands-on engineering role where you will work at the intersection of battery testing, software, hardware and production. You will develop automated test solutions, integrate equipment and instruments, and make sure the data we generate is reliable and traceable. What you will own Develop and maintain automated battery tests for cells, modules and packs. Automate manual testing processes, from test execution and data collection to analysis and reporting. Integrate and control test equipment such as battery cyclers, power supplies, loads, DAQ systems and climate chambers. Write and maintain Python or LabVIEW software and work with protocols such as CAN, SCPI or Modbus. Define and implement tests for capacity, cycling, voltage, impedance testing, imbalance and other battery characteristics. Support end-of-line testing, including pass/fail limits, traceability and test cycle time. Build and maintain test data storage and pipelines, ensuring results can be linked to individual batteries and serial numbers. Analyse test results and improve test reliability, repeatability and throughput as production scales. Work closely with hardware, production and engineering teams to turn testing needs into reliable automated solutions. Job Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field. 3+ years of experience in test automation, automated testing, production testing, laboratory automation or a similar engineering environment. Experience working with test data and databases, including structuring, storing and retrieving data generated by automated tests. Strong programming experience in Python or LabVIEW. A good understanding of lithium-ion cells and battery packs - including capacity, voltage, internal resistance, state of charge/health, ageing and thermal effects. Experience with battery testing, such as capacity testing, cycling, DCIR, OCV, resistance, voltage and imbalance measurements. Experience integrating software with test instruments, measurement equipment or production machinery. Experience with CAN, SCPI, Modbus or similar communication protocols. Good technical problem-solving skills and the ability to turn a manual testing process into a reliable automated solution. Comfortable working hands-on with hardware, software and test equipment. Experience scaling automated testing in a high-volume or ramping-up manufacturing environment. Additional information Working language: English. Our team spans 10+ nationalities. Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field with at least 3 years of experience in test automation. Proficiency in Python or LabVIEW and a strong understanding of battery characteristics and communication protocols are essential.
