About The Role As a Data Engineer at Zonneplan, you will be integral to building and enhancing our central data platform, which impacts the entire organization. Your primary responsibility will be to develop reliable data pipelines, ensure data quality and security, and lay the technical foundation for our upcoming ML platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, Trading & Optimization, and GenAI to translate data requests into sustainable self-service solutions. Your work will directly influence how quickly data requests are handled and how independently teams can work with data, accelerating our journey toward a data- and AI-driven organization. You will be part of our Infra team, utilizing modern tools and AI technologies, such as Claude Code, to automate processes and improve workflows. Qualifications Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Data Engineer Proficiency in SQL and data modeling Experience in building and managing reliable data pipelines Strong understanding of data quality, security, and reliability Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders Proactive mindset with the ability to identify and implement improvements Experience with tools such as Dagster, Snowflake, Postgres, Kafka, dbt, Airbyte, Kubernetes, or AWS is a plus Knowledge of data mesh or self-service analytics is advantageous Familiarity with AI tools and daily application of AI in workflows Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies Responsibilities Develop and enhance the organization-wide data platform, ensuring reliability and scalability Create and maintain robust data pipelines and data models for various teams Monitor data workflows, identify issues early, and resolve them proactively Implement data security measures, access controls, and data quality checks Translate organizational data requests into sustainable, self-service solutions Build the foundational infrastructure for the ML platform, collaborating with development teams Utilize AI tools such as Claude Code to automate tasks, improve workflows, and enhance documentation Share insights and learnings actively with team members to foster continuous improvement Contribute to a data-driven culture by promoting best practices in data management and AI integration Benefits Competitive salary between €3,500 and €5,000 gross per month, depending on experience 25 vacation days, with options to purchase additional days Reiskostenvergoeding (travel allowance) Personalized keuzebudget for sports, groceries, or other needs Access to Zonneplan Academie for continuous learning and professional development State-of-the-art tooling, including Claude Code licenses Opportunities for career growth from medior to senior Data Engineer and eventually to Tech Lead Data Collaborative work environment with engineers, data specialists, and product teams Equal Opportunity Zonneplan is an equal opportunity employer.
