THE TEAM As part of our Engineering team, you will play a critical leadership role in maintaining the infrastructure, systems, and facilities that support exceptional guest and associate experiences throughout the hotel. Working closely with the Director of Engineering, operational departments, external contractors, and a skilled team of engineering professionals, you will help ensure the property is maintained to the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and reliability. You will contribute to a culture of operational excellence while supporting the continued development of the Engineering team. YOUR ROLE As Assistant Director of Engineering, you will support the Director of Engineering in leading all aspects of the hotel's engineering operation. Through your technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic approach, you will oversee preventive maintenance programs, support capital projects, and ensure the effective operation of all building systems and facilities. Acting as a key leader within the department, you will help drive operational efficiency, asset protection, sustainability initiatives, and compliance while ensuring a safe and exceptional environment for guests and associates alike. HOW YOU’LL MAKE THE PLACE Support the Director of Engineering in managing the daily operation of the Engineering department and maintaining hotel facilities to the highest standards. Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team to achieve departmental objectives and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Oversee the preventive maintenance program to maximize equipment reliability and minimize operational downtime. Support the planning and execution of capital expenditure projects, renovations, and refurbishment initiatives. Monitor the performance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, life safety, kitchen, laundry, and building management systems. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements while promoting best engineering practices. Manage departmental budgets, procurement activities, service contracts, and cost-control initiatives. Drive sustainability and energy conservation programs to improve operational performance and support environmental goals. COULD THIS BE YOU? You have experience in an Engineering leadership role within a luxury hotel, resort, or hospitality environment. You possess strong technical knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, kitchen, and laundry equipment. You are an inspiring leader who enjoys coaching, developing, and motivating engineering professionals. You have a strong understanding of preventive maintenance programs, asset management, and engineering best practices. You are highly organized, with excellent project management, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. You communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and collaborate successfully with operational teams and external partners. You are proficient in engineering management systems, building management systems, and Microsoft Office applications. You hold a relevant technical qualification, engineering diploma, or degree and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.
