Engineering Team Lead – Turner Energy Control Solutions | Netherlands Lead a technical team. Shape how a growing international engineering company delivers energy control solutions. Turner Engine Control Solutions (TECS) is an international engineering company delivering control systems for gas turbines, steam turbines, diesel engines and generators, and increasingly for the wider energy transition. We're a lean, ambitious team of around 75 specialists across the Netherlands, UK, Germany and Italy. Recent wins include advanced power management for offshore platforms, island energy control integrating renewable sources, long-duration industrial-scale storage and hydrogen-ready marine vessel systems. We're looking for an Engineering Team Lead for our Netherlands site, based in Hoofddorp, to lead the department behind our retrofit projects, service engineering and technical support. What You'll Actually Do Lead and develop a technical team: Project Engineers, Service Engineers, a Cabinet Technician and two Coordinators report to you. You'll coach, run performance reviews, assign work and build a team that wants to grow with you. Own the technical backbone of our projects: reviewing designs, tracking KPIs, ensuring compliance with ISO, CE and ATEX standards, and staying close enough to the engineering to make good calls under pressure. Coordinate across borders. You'll work closely with William, your counterpart leading engineering in Italy, and with colleagues across our German and UK teams, as part of a genuinely European engineering community rather than a siloed local department. Sit at the table. You'll join Management Team meetings, work directly with our Sales and Finance Team Leads on scoping and delivery, and represent engineering in front of major customers. What You Bring A management mindset. You'd rather build a strong team than just be the smartest engineer in the room. Coaching, feedback and difficult conversations don't scare you. Technical credibility. HBO or WO level in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or operational technology, with hands-on experience in control systems or rotating equipment, so your team and your customers take your judgement seriously. Communication skills. You move comfortably between a workshop conversation and a Management Team discussion, and between Dutch colleagues and international counterparts. Core Responsibilities

Lead and develop a technical team of engineers and coordinators while overseeing the technical backbone of retrofit projects and service engineering. You will coordinate across international borders and participate in management team meetings to shape engineering delivery.

Requirements

Requires a bachelor degree in mechanical, electrical, or operational technology engineering with hands-on experience in control systems. Candidates must possess strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively across international teams.
