To support this sustainable and structured growth, we are looking for a strong Senior Officer Financial Accounting for our Dutch entities. The ideal candidate will help consolidate existing finance activities and support both local and group management in delivering the company’s growth strategy. Together with the Finance Manager, the Senior Officer Financial Accounting will be responsible for the full accounting, planning and control cycle for two legal entities and three production sites. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to bring structure, solve problems and improve financial processes. Job responsibilities Accounting and Financial Control Manage day-to-day finance and accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger activities. Oversee creditors and debtors administration. Ensure timely monthly and year-end closing of accounts. Review and approve payment vouchers and journal entries. Ensure accurate inventory levels, stock movements and inventory valuations. Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including accruals, provisions and intercompany positions. Manage cash and debtor collections and work closely with procurement, production and sales to prepare reliable liquidity forecasts. Capitalize internal R&D man-days, including documentation of payroll costs and related assets. Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements, payments and cash-flow overviews. Reporting Update the weekly KPI report covering working capital, inventory levels and sales margins. Submit monthly financial statements, including balance sheet, profit and loss statement and cash-flow statement. Prepare ad hoc reports as required. Production costs and Sales margins Analyse monthly product margins and production costs. Monitor and interpret variances between actual costs and standard costs. Periodically review the standard cost model and liaise with the Finance Manager on potential adjustments. Analyse cost structures and variances against budget and identify potential cost savings. Planning Prepare rolling liquidity planning. Support year-end forecasting. Contribute to the budgeting process. Take responsibility for local planning procedures. Contribute to shaping the 5-year group business plan. Processes and Compliance Develop and maintain internal controls, effective accounting systems and relevant policies. Prepare the annual external audit and liaise with local auditors. Support the Finance Manager in ensuring that intercompany cost allocations are in line with management agreements and transfer pricing policy. Ensure correct tax and VAT treatment and accounting. Prepare CBS declarations. Support payroll-related administration, including WKR, payroll tax and salary reconciliations for audit purposes. Candidate Profile We are looking for a strong, hands-on candidate who combines solid accounting expertise with a structured way of working, business awareness and the drive to improve processes in a growing international environment. 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience. HBO-level education in Business Economics, Accounting or a related field. Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel. Experience in a production environment. Experience in the food or pharmaceutical industry is a plus. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus. Relevant experience with audits and cost models is advantageous. Familiarity with IFRS is advantageous. Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Able to work independently, with a motivated and hands-on attitude. Proactive problem solver with a methodical, structured and meticulous approach.

The Senior Officer Financial Accounting manages day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger activities. They are also responsible for financial reporting, cost analysis, liquidity planning, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and tax regulations.

Requirements

The ideal candidate possesses 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience and an HBO-level education in Business Economics or a related field. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and experience within a production environment are required.
