Join NKT as Engineering Manager - Seabed Intervention in Rotterdam and play an important role in building the capability, quality and collaboration needed to support the green transition. This is a leadership role for someone who wants to develop people, lead a strong project engineering team and stay close to technical delivery. You will be responsible for a diverse team of Seabed Intervention Project Engineers working with route preparation, seabed intervention and cable protection scopes in large international EPCI projects. The Project Engineers in your team combine hands-on engineering and technical ownership with coordination and follow-up of subcontracted work. Since many seabed intervention activities in NKT’s EPCI projects are delivered together with external subcontractors, the team plays an important role in ensuring technical clarity, quality and progress. You will ensure the right competence and capacity are available across projects while continuously developing the team and maintaining consistent engineering standards, processes and documentation. The position is based in Rotterdam and involves close collaboration with project teams, subcontractors, clients and colleagues across the global organization. What You Will Do As Engineering Manager, you will act as line manager for Seabed Intervention Project Engineers and as a key partner to project and tender teams, Project Installation Managers, subcontractors, suppliers and other technical functions. You will assign engineers based on project requirements and individual competencies while supporting team members through coaching, feedback, performance management and competence development. Your team covers scopes such as route clearance, dredging or pre-sweeping, trenching, subsea rock installation, crossings, landfall interfaces and cable protection. The engineers translate project and contract requirements into engineering deliverables, coordinate technical input, review subcontractor documentation and manage outsourced ensuring alignment with project needs, quality expectations and agreed milestones. You will also work closely with the Director Offshore Engineering and the wider offshore engineering organization to develop the department in line with NKT’s strategy, project portfolio and future capability needs. This includes contributing to how we build competence, develop capabilities, improve ways of working and ensure that the organization is prepared for future project requirements. A BSc or MSc in Maritime Technology, Naval Architecture, Offshore Engineering or similar discipline Experience leading engineering teams in project delivery, either as a formal manager or in a technical leadership role Ability to develop people, build trust and support a diverse team of skilled professionals Understanding of offshore project delivery, technical quality requirements and the risks connected to offshore operations Structured approach to resource planning, competence development, process improvement and documentation Ability to build strong working relationships with project managers, installation managers, clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders in an international environment Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken Closing / Employer Branding We aim to create a workplace where people of all backgrounds are valued, supported, and able to do their best work.
