Job Description

Overview Trinseo is a different kind of global materials company – at the intersection of people, technology, and customers. We are a world leader in the production of plastics and latex binders. Our culture is built on passion and innovation. A career at Trinseo presents a unique opportunity to work in a highly collaborative environment. Helping customers solve their most complex material challenges is the reason we come to work each day. We are seeking innovative thinkers – ready to tackle any challenge and passionate about delivering value. As a global materials solutions provider focused on delivering innovative and sustainable solutions to our customers, we need people to feel respected and included so they can be more creative, innovative, and successful. We strive to create workplaces that reflect all communities and customers we serve and where everyone feels empowered to bring their full, authentic selves to work. That's why we're fully committed to inclusion across race, gender, age, religion, identity, and experience to drive us forward every day. Role Overview The Business Development Manager (BDM) – Industrial Compounds EMEA will drive profitable growth of Trinseo’s Industrial Compounds business by identifying new markets, applications, customers, partners and business models across EMEA. The role focuses on developing opportunities in Electrical & Electronics, Lighting, Building & Construction, Consumer Goods, Sanitary applications, Bus & Train and other industrial segments, leveraging Trinseo’s EMERGE™, CALIBRE™, MAGNUM™, ENLITE™ and TYRIL™ portfolios, including SAFE, PFAS-free, ECO and circular material solutions. The BDM will serve as the commercial growth engine for Industrial Compounds EMEA: building relationships with target customers and value-chain partners, creating and managing the business development pipeline, supporting qualification and commercialization projects, translating market needs into portfolio and innovation priorities, coordinating internal stakeholders to convert opportunities into sustainable volume and margin growth, and handing over newly won business to Sales Account Managers for ongoing account management after the first commercial sale. Responsibilities Strategy & Market Development Define and maintain the Industrial Compounds EMEA business development roadmap, including target markets, target customers, application priorities and value propositions. Build market intelligence for E&E/E&L, B&C, Consumer Goods, Sanitary, Bus & Train and adjacent industrial applications. Identify and prioritize opportunities driven by PFAS exit, SAFE chemistry, UV replacement, sustainability, circularity, RTI/UL differentiation and demand for specialty compounds. Provide structured input to Product Management, R&D, Marketing and Sustainability on market needs, unmet customer requirements, competitor moves and portfolio gaps. External Relationship Building & Opportunity Creation Develop strategic relationships with direct customers, OEMs, brand owners, Tier suppliers, distributors, processors, recyclers, industry networks and associations relevant to Industrial Compounds. Create new opportunities beyond the existing distributor base and support a shift toward strategic direct customer growth. Position Trinseo as a partner for specialty and sustainable compounds, including EMERGE™ PC/PC-ABS, CALIBRE™ ECO, MAGNUM™, TYRIL™, ENLITE™, ASA and selected new-to-Trinseo compounds. Participate in relevant customer visits, exhibitions, conferences and industry forums to generate leads and advance Trinseo’s market position. Pipeline Execution & Commercial Conversion Build, maintain and convert a robust opportunity pipeline, with clear ownership of opportunity quality, value, timing, milestones, internal alignment and handover readiness. Coordinate qualification programs with Sales, Account Management, Product Management, TS&D, R&D, Sustainability and Supply Chain. Develop business cases and initial commercial proposals for target opportunities, including expected volume, margin, qualification requirements, technical resource needs, small-lot/sample requirements and commercialization pathway. Lead progress reviews, quote and close initial deals where needed to secure new business, and ensure opportunities are tracked, challenged, advanced through agreed stage-gate / CRM processes and transitioned to Sales Account Management after the first commercial sale. Cross-functional Leadership & Internal Enablement Lead by influence across the EMEA Industrial Compounds growth team, including Account Management, TS&D, Product Management, R&D, Marketing, Sustainability and Supply Chain, to align qualification, commercialization and handover responsibilities. Translate market learnings into guidance, playbooks and coaching for commercial teams. Support pricing, customer segmentation, distributor strategy and product positioning decisions where required. Escalate bottlenecks in technical support, lab capacity, small-lot manufacturing or customer qualification that may limit growth realization.
