About the role
The Retail field sales team is a core part of Dyson’s Benelux Sales Department. We are looking for a dynamic driven candidate who has some experience as a people manager and is looking to expand & develop their commercial leadership skills.
As an Area Manager you will drive product sales through your team of Experts, and the awareness you build of the Dyson brand within our retailer’s stores. Regionally based, you will work closely within your team of experts, Dyson ambassadors and use relationships with account management, retail activation and marketing teams to ensure Dyson’s sales strategy is delivered in your area.
The region
We are searching an area manger for the region Netherlands North, ideally located in the central surrounding Amsterdam. The region consists out of +/- 4 points of sale and 10 – 14 direct reports.
Key Responsibilities
Driving sales growth in your region
Ownership of Sell-Out performance of the given region.
Analyse weekly sales data and market trends to identify opportunities and define clear / strong short & long term actions.
Weekly presentation of the Sell-Out results within your area
Overall goal is to increase Dyson sales within your region in a sustainable way.
People Management
Lead the performance management, motivation and capability of your teams of Experts to ensure delivery against their sales targets.
Conduct focused and regular store visits to develop and coach your team.
Conduct meaningful 1:1’s, driving a high performance team. Hold development discussions and ensure these are captured and acted on with the individual.
Coach on the job, mentor and train direct reports.
Liaise with the Retail operations & activations team to ensure Excellence in execution.
Conduct in store training sessions with demonstrators as necessary and particularly in connection to the launch of NPD.
Ensure operational excellence
Merchandise retail stores with correct point of sale materials and achieve a minimum standard instore upon entry to store, as well as exit through excellent in store relations and strong business conversations.
Ensure Dyson displays are clean, tidy and shoppable.
Build brand advocacy with retailers
Build and maintain effective relationships with store CCO, department manager, Regional Operational Managers and key influencers.
Build and manage a virtual team of Dyson Ambassadors within the retailer staff.
Conduct product training of all Sales Associates, Department Managers and Store Managers on the Dyson products through spontaneous and pre booked training sessions.
Skills/Experience Required
- Dutch native proficiency.
- Commercially driven.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Previous target driven experience required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to enable effective cross departmental working.
- High level of PC skills, including all Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent organisational and planning ability.
- Self-motivated and an exceptional team player.
- Strong analytical ability.

Requirements
The ideal candidate must have previous experience in people management and a target-driven sales environment. Proficiency in Dutch is required, along with strong analytical, leadership, and organizational skills.
