Sleutel jij aan vrachtwagens, auto’s, landbouwmachines of andere zware techniek? Dan is dit jouw kans om de overstap te maken naar de maritieme wereld. Je hoeft nog geen ervaring met scheepsmotoren te hebben. Wij leren je hoe je grote scheepsdieselmotoren onderhoudt, reviseert en weer in beweging krijgt.
We zijn uiteraard opzoek naar ervaren sleutelaars van scheepsmotoren. Hier hebben we een aparte vacature voor geschreven.
*op dit moment is de werkplaats nog in Bergen op Zoom. Binnen nu en een jaar gaan we verhuizen naar de al bestaande werkplaats in S'gravendeel.
Maak de overstap naar scheepsmotoren
Bij Damen leer je werken aan middel- en langzaamdraaiende scheepsdieselmotoren. Samen met ervaren collega’s ontwikkel je jezelf tot specialist in onderhoud, revisie en het oplossen van storingen. Ervaring met scheepsmotoren is dus niet nodig. Technisch inzicht, sleutelervaring en de motivatie om het vak te leren zijn belangrijker.
Wat ga je doen?
De ene week reviseer je grote motoronderdelen in de werkplaats. De andere week werk je aan boord van een schip in Rotterdam, Antwerpen of elders in Europa. Je werkzaamheden bestaan onder andere uit:
Onderhoud en inspecties uitvoeren aan scheepsdieselmotoren
Motoronderdelen demonteren, inspecteren en monteren
Metingen uitvoeren en technische bevindingen vastleggen
Storingen analyseren en samen met collega’s oplossen
Meewerken aan revisieprojecten in de werkplaats en aan boord
Servicerapportages opstellen
Werken volgens hoge veiligheids- en kwaliteitsstandaarden

Dieselmonteur

Monteur mobiele werktuigen
Monteur landbouwmechanisatie
Monteur in de industriële onderhoudssector
Sleutel je in je vrije tijd veel aan motoren en heb je een technische opleiding of relevante praktijkervaring? Ook dan komen we graag met je in contact.
We hebben bijvoorbeeld een collega die ex-dakdekker is.
Wat breng je mee?
MBO niveau 3 of 4 in een technische richting, of aantoonbaar vergelijkbaar technisch niveau
Affiniteit met dieselmotoren en zware mechanische installaties
Een praktische instelling en de wil om te leren
Bereidheid om voor projecten te reizen en flexibel te werken wanneer een opdracht daarom vraagt
Zelfstandigheid en teamspirit
Goede beheersing van het Nederlands en bij voorkeur het Engels

Standplaats
De werkzaamheden worden momenteel uitgevoerd vanuit Bergen op Zoom. Binnen een jaar wordt de werkplaats geïntegreerd in onze vestiging in 's-Gravendeel, dat de toekomstige vaste uitvalsbasis wordt. Daarnaast werk je regelmatig op projectlocaties in binnen- en buitenland.

Core Responsibilities
You will perform maintenance, inspections, and overhauls on large marine diesel engines both in the workshop and on board ships. Additionally, you will analyze technical malfunctions, document findings, and work collaboratively to ensure high safety and quality standards.
Requirements
Candidates should possess an MBO level 3 or 4 technical education or equivalent practical experience with heavy mechanical installations. A practical mindset, willingness to learn, and the ability to travel for projects are essential requirements.
