Objective of the position

As a Product Engineer Hardware Engineering  you will work closely with Product Development and Operations teams to perform tasks linked to products already in mass production, as part of our Change Management team in the Series Engineering department

Characterization of activities

  • Maintain, and improve existing products by implementing design changes, performing design verification activities, and supporting production in resolving quality issues.
  • Lead technical investigations and troubleshooting efforts to identify root causes and implement effective engineering solutions.
  • Coordinate and execute engineering change activities, ensuring timely and accurate implementation across products and processes.
  • Utilize Altium, DX Designer, Siemens Xpedition, and PADS to develop and maintain electronic hardware designs, manage technical documentation, and ensure accurate engineering data throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams, suppliers, and customers while contributing technical expertise to DFMEAs, product innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Continuously enhance engineering tools, processes, and personal capabilities by driving improvement projects and expanding technical knowledge through collaboration with colleagues.

Education, Experience and Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5-7 years of experience in electronics, embedded systems, or product development within a technical environment.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive development standards and processes, including DFMEA, APQP, PPAP, 8D, ASPICE, and requirements management.
  • Experience with product development activities such as BOM creation, supplier collaboration, prototype procurement, engineering change management, and embedded system design.
  • Solid technical expertise in analog and digital electronics, EMC/EMI/ESD troubleshooting, reliability engineering, FPGA/CPU architectures, communication protocols (e.g., CAN), and laboratory testing.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, fluency in English, and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams; experience with supply chains, manufacturing processes (plastics and die casting), and Dutch language skills are considered an advantage.

  • Travel allowance home-work: 23ct per kilometer one way up to a maximum of 50 km
  • CAO: Metalektro HP.
  • Retirement: PME (Pensioenfonds Metalektro).
  • WIA: WIA floor, WGA gap and WGA gap additional insurances in accordance with the stipulated provisions.
  • PAWW: Compulsory supplementary insurance when the statutory unemployment WW or WGA benefit expires.
  • Holiday days: 27 days on an annual basis (full-time).
  • ATV: 13 days on an annual basis (full-time)

Requirements

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field with 5-7 years of experience in electronics or product development. Strong knowledge of automotive standards like DFMEA, APQP, and PPAP is required, along with technical expertise in analog and digital electronics.
