Role Overview The Integral Planning & Control (IP&C) department is looking for an experienced Optimization Data Scientist to join the Armada team. The team focuses on optimizing day-to-day airline operations, including aircraft tail assignment and disruption management caused by maintenance requirements, runway capacity limitations, and other operational constraints. The role involves developing optimization solutions while incorporating uncertainty factors such as weather forecasts. Key Responsibilities Develop optimization solutions for airline operations. Support aircraft tail assignment and disruption management. Build simulation models and analytical solutions using Python. Apply optimization algorithms and heuristic approaches. Work on data-driven operational decision-making. Incorporate uncertainty factors such as weather forecasts. Perform data analysis, processing, and visualization. Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the ALIGN simulation platform. Must-Have Skills Strong Python experience. SimPy / Discrete Event Simulation. Data Science background. Optimization knowledge. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience developing analytical or simulation solutions. Strong communication skills. Good to Have Airline Operations experience. Disruption Management / Scheduling Optimization. Monte Carlo Simulation. Weather-based predictive optimization. Agile/Scrum experience. Operations Research / Industrial Engineering background.
