Job Description

About BlueHeart Energy BlueHeart Energy was founded in 2016 as a deep-tech company that has developed a new sustainable thermoacoustics technology to radically improve the performance of heat pumps, enabling them to evolve from being the best solution in the market to becoming the perfect solution. Our technology is a disruptive approach to generate heat and cold, with potential to revolutionize the whole industry. With our so called 'Blue Heart' inside, heat pumps turn into affordable, silent and flexible devices, capable of working with wide temperature ranges suitable for both new and existing houses. Importantly, BlueHeart doesn’t require any refrigerants and doesn’t generate any CO2e emissions. About The Role As our Manufacturing & Industrialization Engineer, you will help turn innovative heat pump technology from prototypes and pilot builds into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes. This is a highly hands-on, shop-floor-based engineering role. You will spend most of your time close to the product and production floor, working directly with Production, Engineering, and Quality to develop manufacturing processes, solve build and assembly issues, and implement practical solutions. You will translate engineering designs into effective ways of building our products: developing assembly methods, designing and improving workstations, tooling and fixtures, troubleshooting issues during builds, and identifying what needs to change to keep production moving. When something doesn't fit, work as expected, or isn't ready for production, you'll help determine why and take ownership of driving the solution. Beyond solving today's manufacturing challenges, you will help shape how we manufacture at scale. You will co-own the development and optimization of our production line, support the transition from prototype and pilot builds toward serial production, and establish the SOPs, work instructions, process flows, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and other manufacturing documentation needed to create a robust production system. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys being close to the hardware, solving practical problems on the shop floor, and taking ownership from problem identification through to implementation. What You’ll Do Work hands-on on the shop floor to develop, test, and improve manufacturing and assembly processes. Translate engineering designs and prototypes into practical, repeatable production methods. Troubleshoot build, assembly, and manufacturing issues as they arise, identify root causes, and implement practical solutions. Design and optimize production workstations, layouts, tooling, jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment. Support prototype and pilot builds and drive production readiness toward serial manufacturing. Identify gaps in production readiness and take ownership of resolving them. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, process maps, and production flow diagrams. Create and maintain PFMEAs, Control Plans, and other manufacturing documentation. Work closely with Engineering to provide practical Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) input. Co-own the development and optimization of the production line together with Production and Quality. Apply Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles to improve quality, safety, efficiency, and scalability. Support root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions. Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Production, and external suppliers to solve manufacturing challenges and drive progress. Support the future transfer of manufacturing processes and production-line knowledge to our manufacturing partner. What We're Looking For Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. Hands-on experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrialization engineering environment, with a significant part of your work taking place directly on the shop floor. Experience developing manufacturing or assembly processes for physical products. Experience creating production documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, process maps, and production flows. Practical experience troubleshooting manufacturing and assembly problems and implementing solutions. Experience with, or exposure to, tooling, jigs, fixtures, workstations, and manufacturing equipment. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles. Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive problems through to resolution without requiring close supervision. A proactive mindset: you ask questions, identify missing information, and take action when something isn't working. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across Engineering, Production, Quality, and other teams. Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where processes are still being developed and priorities can change. Nice to Have Dutch language skills; fluency in Dutch is a strong advantage. Experience taking a product from prototype or pilot builds toward serial production. Practical experience applying Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) principles. Experience with PFMEAs and Control Plans. Experience designing or implementing production tooling, fixtures, or workstations. Experience with new product introduction (NPI) or production industrialization. Experience in heat pumps, HVAC, energy technology, or another mechanical/electromechanical product environment. Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment. What We Offer Salary range between €3,700 - €4,500 monthly gross depending on experience. Opportunity to participate in the ESOP scheme, directly linked to company value creation and individual performance. 25 vacation days. Hybrid work arrangement supporting autonomy and work–life balance. Training opportunities to support in your personal and professional development with access to extensive training opportunities at your request. Access to OpenUp, because we prioritize mental well-being. Participation in our pension scheme with employer contribution. Commuting allowance, in line with our travel policy. A strategic role in a purpose-driven scale-up, contributing to a greener world and shaping the future of sustainable thermal technology. Learn more about our mission here.
