To scale our technology roadmap and lead our core engineering team, we are looking for a hands-on, empathetic, and technically grounded Manager Software Engineering. The Role As Manager Software Engineering, you will directly manage a cross-functional team of 7 engineers across systems, web, and QA disciplines. You will bridge the gap between product strategy and technical execution while fostering individual growth. Because our domain spans embedded/systems engineering, web platforms, and quality assurance, we need a leader with a solid technical background who can speak the team's language, guide architectural decisions, and manage a diverse set of engineering disciplines effectively. Key Responsibilities People Management & Leadership: Provide direct line management for a cross-functional team of 7 engineers. Conduct regular 1-on-1s, drive talent development, evaluate performance, and maintain a high-trust, collaborative engineering culture. Cross-Functional Team Enablement: Align distinct technical disciplines toward shared sprint goals, deliverable milestones, and seamless product releases. Technical Guidance: Leverage your software engineering background to engage in technical architecture discussions, review trade-offs, and help the team solve complex engineering challenges. Delivery & Agile Processes: Optimize team processes and workflows to ensure high code quality, reliable releases, continuous testing, and scalable architecture. Cross-Department Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between your engineering team, Product Owners, UX/UI Designers, and Hardware teams to ensure smooth end-to-end integration. Requirements Leadership Experience: 3+ years in an engineering leadership role (e.g., Engineering Manager, Technical Team Lead) with a proven track record of managing cross-functional technical teams. Strong Technical Background: A solid background as a Software Engineer/Developer with the technical depth needed to guide cross-functional software teams effectively. Cross-Functional Domain Knowledge: Broad understanding of software development lifecycles across systems software, modern web applications, and QA automation/processes. Leadership Style: Coaching, servant-leadership approach. You prioritize removing roadblocks, empowering engineers, and fostering clear communication across disciplines. Languages: Professional fluency in both English and Dutch (spoken and written). Bonus: Experience in IoT, hardware-software integration, MedTech, or interactive media/gaming platforms.
