About The Role As a Data Engineer at Zonneplan, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s data infrastructure. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and enhance our central data platform, ensuring reliable, secure, and accessible data for all teams. You will build robust data pipelines, implement data quality measures, and lay the technical foundation for our upcoming machine learning platform. Working within the Infra team, you will collaborate closely with engineering, Trading & Optimization, GenAI, and other development teams to translate data requests into scalable, self-service solutions. Your work directly impacts the speed and autonomy with which teams can leverage data, enabling faster decision-making and more innovative energy solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work in an AI-driven environment, utilizing tools like Claude Code Max 20x-licence, and actively encouraging the integration of AI into daily workflows. Your contributions will help accelerate our Plan Zero initiative, making data and AI integral to our growth and sustainability goals. The position is full-time, with a flexible schedule of 32-40 hours per week, offering a competitive salary aligned with experience and expertise. Qualifications Minimum 1-2 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer Proficiency in SQL and data modeling Experience in building and managing reliable data pipelines Strong understanding of data quality, reliability, and security principles Ability to communicate complex technical topics to non-technical colleagues Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to translate user needs into technical solutions Proactive mindset in identifying and implementing improvements Daily use of AI tools such as Claude Code or equivalent Familiarity with data tools such as Dagster, Snowflake, Postgres, Kafka, dbt, dlthub, Airbyte, Kubernetes, or AWS is advantageous Experience with data mesh or self-service analytics is a plus Responsibilities Develop and optimize the organization’s central data platform, including data pipelines and models Monitor data processes to detect and resolve issues proactively, ensuring continuous data availability and integrity Implement access controls and data quality checks to ensure data security and responsible usage Translate organizational data requests into sustainable, scalable solutions Build the technical foundation for the machine learning platform, collaborating with development teams to meet their needs from training to deployment Leverage AI tools to automate repetitive tasks, improve workflows, and share insights with team members Continuously improve data processes and infrastructure, embracing an AI-driven approach to work Document technical solutions and best practices, fostering knowledge sharing within the team Benefits Competitive salary between €3,500 and €5,000 gross per month, based on experience 25 vacation days, with options to purchase additional days Reiskostenvergoeding (travel allowance) Personalized keuzebudget for sports, groceries, or other needs Access to the Zonneplan Academie for continuous professional development State-of-the-art tooling, including Claude Code Max 20x-licence Clear career growth path from Medior to Senior Data Engineer and eventually Tech Lead Data Dynamic and collaborative work environment with a focus on impactful projects Equal Opportunity Zonneplan is an equal opportunity employer. Requirements

Candidates must have at least 1-2 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer with proficiency in SQL and data modeling. Strong communication skills and experience with data infrastructure tools like Snowflake, Kafka, or Kubernetes are essential for this role.
