Functieomschrijving De rol van Solutions Engineer bevindt zich precies op het snijvlak van business en IT en zorgt ervoor dat wensen, ideeën en knelpunten vanuit de organisatie worden vertaald naar concrete, werkende oplossingen. Je analyseert requirements, zet deze om in heldere user stories en specificaties en bewaakt de kwaliteit van wat er wordt opgeleverd. Je vertaalt businessbehoeften niet alleen naar oplossingen, maar daagt deze ook actief uit op haalbaarheid, schaalbaarheid en businesswaarde. Je zorgt ervoor dat nieuwe oplossingen aansluiten op bestaande systemen en processen en ook op de lange termijn goed beheersbaar blijven. Je bent nauw betrokken bij het beheren van releases en hotfixes en zorgt ervoor dat nieuwe functionaliteiten goed worden getest, geïmplementeerd en gedocumenteerd. Je begrijpt hoe applicaties, integraties, databronnen en processen met elkaar samenhangen en bent in staat om wijzigingen integraal te beoordelen. Daarbij kijk je verder dan vandaag: je denkt actief mee over automatisering, schaalbaarheid en continue verbetering van onze applicaties en processen. Je werkt samen met collega’s uit onder andere Operations, Finance, HR, Sales en IT en stemt af met leveranciers en andere stakeholders. Jouw werkzaamheden: Analyseren van businessbehoeften en vertalen naar user stories en functionele/technische specificaties; Ontwerpen van oplossingen en zorgen voor een soepele integratie binnen bestaande systemen en processen; Managen van releases en hotfixes, inclusief acceptatie- en regressietesten; Valideren van ontwikkelde oplossingen tijdens demo’s en scopingsessies; Signaleren van verbetermogelijkheden en initiëren van optimalisaties en automatisering; Bewaken van de samenhang tussen processen, applicaties, data en integraties en proactief signaleren van risico's, afhankelijkheden en verbetermogelijkheden. Opstellen van documentatie en verzorgen van trainingen voor eindgebruikers; Samenwerken met interne teams en externe leveranciers om resultaten te realiseren. Wat breng jij mee? Een afgeronde hbo-opleiding in de richting van IT, (Technische) Bedrijfskunde, Supply Chain Management of vergelijkbaar; Minimaal 3 jaar ervaring in solutions engineering, business analyse of IT-projectrollen; Goede beheersing van de Engelse taal; Een sterk analytisch vermogen en het talent om complexe vraagstukken helder te maken; Je hebt het vermogen om applicaties, databronnen, interfaces en integraties op hoofdlijnen te doorgronden; Ervaring met SQL, datamodellen, API’s of systeemintegraties is een pré; Je bent in staat om zelfstandig analyses uit te voeren op data, processen en systeemgedrag om problemen te identificeren en oplossingsrichtingen te bepalen; Je schakelt makkelijk tussen verschillende afdelingen en niveaus binnen de organisatie. Job Description The Solutions Engineer role is positioned at the intersection of business and IT, ensuring that needs, ideas and challenges from across the organisation are translated into practical, working solutions. You analyse requirements, convert them into clear user stories and specifications, and safeguard the quality of the delivered results. You do not simply translate business needs into solutions; you actively challenge them in terms of feasibility, scalability and business value. You ensure that new solutions fit seamlessly with existing systems and processes and remain manageable over the long term. You are closely involved in managing releases and hotfixes, ensuring that new functionality is properly tested, implemented and documented. You understand how applications, integrations, data sources and processes interact and can assess changes from an end-to-end perspective. You also look beyond today by actively contributing ideas on automation, scalability and the continuous improvement of our applications and processes. You will work with colleagues from Operations, Finance, HR, Sales and IT, among other departments, and coordinate with suppliers and other stakeholders. With your overview, analytical skills and communication style, you create alignment and support. You will have plenty of scope to work independently, take responsibility and help shape the digital future of Van den Bosch. Your responsibilities: Analyse business needs and translate them into user stories and functional or technical specifications; Design solutions and ensure smooth integration with existing systems and processes; Manage releases and hotfixes, including acceptance and regression testing; Validate developed solutions during demonstrations and scoping sessions; Identify opportunities for improvement and initiate optimisation and automation; Safeguard the alignment between processes, applications, data and integrations, and proactively identify risks, dependencies and opportunities for improvement; Prepare documentation and provide training to end users; Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver results. What do you bring? A completed bachelor’s degree in IT, Industrial Engineering and Management, Supply Chain Management or a comparable field; At least three years of experience in solutions engineering, business analysis or IT project roles; A good command of the English language; Strong analytical skills and the ability to make complex issues easy to understand; The ability to understand applications, data sources, interfaces and integrations at a high level; Experience with SQL, data models, APIs or system integrations is an advantage; The ability to independently analyse data, processes and system behaviour to identify problems and determine possible solutions; The ability to communicate effectively across different departments and organisational levels.
