Job Description
Role Description The Field Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Terneuzen, responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of maritime control, navigation and communication systems. Day-to-day activities include performing on-board diagnostics, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and configuring equipment to meet vessel and customer requirements. The role involves providing technical support to clients and shipyards, documenting service activities, and ensuring that work meets safety and quality standards. The Field Engineer will coordinate with project managers and engineering teams to support system integration, upgrades, and modifications, and may assist in training crew members on the proper use of installed systems. Regular travel to vessels, shipyards, and customer sites is expected. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for maritime electronic systems. Candidates should possess field service and technical support skills for on-board installation, maintenance, and customer assistance. Candidates should possess effective communication skills to interact with clients, shipyards, and internal teams. Candidates should possess project management skills to plan, coordinate, and document service and installation activities. Relevant technical education in electronics, marine engineering, or a related field. Experience with maritime navigation, communication, or control systems is highly beneficial. Ability to read technical drawings and schematics and use diagnostic tools and test equipment. Willingness to travel regularly and work on board vessels and at shipyards. Strong focus on safety, quality, and customer service, with the ability to work independently and in teams. Live in NL, willing to relocate to NL. Only if work permit is valid in EU. Driving license B
