Sitting within the parent Global Security & Resilience Department, the Group Crisis Management capability focuses on building structures and systems to help us prepare for, respond to and learn from major incidents and crises.
The Crisis Management Specialist II plays a key role in implementing the activities in the Crisis Management annual roadmap, as directed by their manager and in line with the annual roadmap and three year plan. These activities vary depending upon the needs of the organisation, but primarily focus on crisis response, training delivery and strengthening the crisis management capability.
The Crisis Management Specialist II, plays a key role in implementing the annual crisis management roadmap, coordinating the response, recovery and remediation to major/complex incidents and crises impacting the organization and other related entities, and playing a lead role in the delivery of training and activities focused on ensuring preparation and readiness. Owing to the nature of our company, this could include a focus on themes ranging from cybersecurity, fraud, loss of technology, privacy, people & physical Security - in addition to others. The role will also support key initiatives around ensuring compliance with legislation, such as NIS2 and other high priority objectives stemming from crisis after action reviews.
This position requires a high degree of flexibility, an ability to work under high pressure in time-sensitive situations, potentially for protracted periods. It requires strong stakeholder engagement, management and diplomacy skills, a ‘team-first’ mentality and the ability to problem-solve. The ideal candidate will bring some experience in crisis management in relevant subject domains, a strong work ethic, hunger to learn and contribute and be comfortable adapting to change, with the ability to act in an efficient and methodical manner when faced with rapidly unfolding events.

As Crisis Management Specialist II you will play a key role in implementing the activities in the Crisis Management annual roadmap. This will involve various responsibilities across the prepare, respond and learn lifecycle.
In consultation with the manager of the role, the following are typical responsibilities that the Crisis Management Specialist II can expect to assume at Booking.com
Prepare:
Support and where required, lead, the development and delivery of crisis management trainings
Play a key role in updating and socialising the Booking.com Crisis Management Policy, Enterprise Crisis Management Plan (ECMP), crisis registers and other materials that support trainings and response activities
Proactively look for, propose and, where applicable, lead the adoption of new crisis management tools and processes
Support, as required, initiatives, training and projects relating to developing a scalable crisis management capability across the BKNG group of companies
Respond:
Be a primary point of escalation for Business Units during potential and / or actual crisis situations as part of an on-call roster
Play a key role in assessing escalations against crisis triggers for potential activation of the Tactical Response Group (TRG)
Support as either a Coordinator or Information Manager major incident and crisis situations with primary responsibility for ensuring that processes are correctly followed (i.e that actions are correctly tracked, TRG meetings are effectively organised, relevant communications are disseminated and information management / legal privilege considerations are adhered to)
Learn:
Support and/or lead the completion and delivery of After Action Reviews (AARs) following TRG deactivations and the conclusion of training sessions
Complete implementation of improvement actions as directed to ensure continuous improvement of the Group Crisis Management capability in line with evolving industry regulations and business requirements across the BKNG group of companies.
B.skilled
Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; cyber and / or tech qualifications a bonus.
Years of relevant Job Knowledge: 3-5 years
Proven experience in Crisis or Incident Management, ideally in a matrixed corporate environment
Proficiency with Google suite preferred. Experience with software/tools such as Jira, Miro, ServiceNow
Stakeholder management, relationship building and presenting skills
Ability to work independently and with the ability to think clearly when responding to rapidly unfolding, ambiguous events
Problem-solving mindset; comfortable handling and analysing data
Prior experience in crisis responses for cybersecurity, data privacy, regulatory, or reputational incidents, including collaboration with legal, communications, risk, and IT stakeholders
Knowledge of Business Continuity Management, with understanding of its integration with Crisis Management, IT Disaster Recovery, and Enterprise Risk Management
