De Functie
Als onderdeel van ons Finance-team speelt de Assistent Boekhouding een belangrijke rol bij het ondersteunen van de financiële basis van onze organisatie. In nauwe samenwerking met de Controller ben je verantwoordelijk voor een breed scala aan financiële en boekhoudkundige taken die essentieel zijn voor het bijhouden van correcte en transparante financiële gegevens. Met oog voor detail en een sterke focus op nauwkeurigheid draag je bij aan het financiële succes van de organisatie door efficiënte boekhoudprocessen te ondersteunen, deel te nemen aan audits en waardevolle inzichten te leveren via financiële analyses.
Wat Je Gaat Doen
- Uitvoeren van dagelijkse boekhoudkundige werkzaamheden, zoals het verwerken van banktransacties, debiteuren- en crediteurenadministratie.
- Uitvoeren van maandelijkse intercompany-afstemmingen.
- Controleren van inkoopfacturen en afstemmen met inkooporders.
- Opstellen en indienen van btw-aangiften.
- Voorbereiden en indienen van lokale wettelijke rapportages, zoals CBS-aangiften.
- Opstellen van voorstellen en voorbereiden van batchbetalingsbestanden.
- Toezien op interne controleprocedures.
- Assisteren bij het opstellen en analyseren van financiële rapportages conform US GAAP en lokale verslaggevingsregels.
- Verwerken van periodeafsluitingsjournaalposten en ondersteunen bij de voorbereiding en controle van maandafsluitingsdocumentatie.
- Samenwerken met de Controller en Director of Finance bij het presenteren van financiële informatie aan het senior management.
- Ondersteunen van externe auditors tijdens jaarlijkse financiële audits en SOX-audits.
- Deelnemen aan speciale projecten, zoals procesverbetering, databeheer, software voor factuurherkenning en vertaling, en rapportageautomatisering.
- Effectief communiceren met teamleden, andere afdelingen, moeder- en zustermaatschappijen en externe belanghebbenden.
Wat Jij Meebrengt
Opleiding
- Bacheloropleiding in Accountancy, Finance, Bedrijfskunde of een vergelijkbare richting.
Ervaring
- Minimaal 4 jaar ervaring in een boekhoudkundige en/of financiële functie.
Vaardigheden en competenties
- Grondige kennis van boekhoudprincipes, financiële verslaggeving en belastingwetgeving.
- Ervaring binnen productie, consumentengoederen (CPG) of de cannabissector is een pré.
- Sterke analytische vaardigheden en het vermogen om financiële afwijkingen te identificeren en te onderzoeken.
- Uitstekende IT-vaardigheden, met name in MS Excel, ERP-systemen en systemen voor factuurherkenning en vertaling.
- Sterke communicatieve vaardigheden en het vermogen om effectief samen te werken met verschillende afdelingen en belanghebbenden.
- Probleemoplossend vermogen en het zelfstandig kunnen identificeren en oplossen van financiële vraagstukken.

The Opportunity
As part our Finance team, our Accounting Assistant will play an important role in supporting the financial foundation of our organization. Working closely with the Controller, your primary responsibilities encompass a broad spectrum of financial and accounting functions that are crucial to maintaining accurate and transparent financial records. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to precision, you will help drive the organization's financial success by facilitating efficient accounting operations, participating in audits, and providing valuable insights through financial analysis.
What You'll Do
- Day-to-day accounting activities, like updating banks, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations.
- Purchase invoice checking and reconciliations with the purchase orders.
- Preparation and filing VAT Returns.
- Preparation and filing of local legal returns like CBS.
- Proposal and draft preparation batch payment files.
- Monitor internal control procedures.
- Assist in preparing and analyse financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP.
- Process period-end journal entries and assist in the preparation and review of month-end working papers.
- Collaborate with the Controller and Director of Finance in presenting financial information to senior management.
- Work with external auditors during the annual financial and SOX audits.
- Participate in special projects, such as process improvements, data management, invoice recognition and translation software and reporting automation.
- Communicate effectively with team members, other departments, parent and sister companies, and external stakeholders.
What You Bring
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
Experience
- 4+ years’ experience in accounting and/or finance roles
Skills and Abilities
- Accounting knowledge and understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations
- Experience in manufacturing, consumer packaged goods and cannabis is an asset.
- Analytical strengths: ability to analyze financial data and identify deviations.
- Advanced IT Skills, especially MS Excel, experience with ERP systems and invoice recognition and translation systems.
- Communication skills: effective communication to various stakeholders and collaborate with different departments.
- Problem solving: the ability to identify and solve financial issues is important for success in this role

Core Responsibilities
The Accounting Assistant will manage daily accounting activities, including bank transactions, accounts payable/receivable, and intercompany reconciliations. They will also assist in preparing financial statements, supporting audits, and participating in process improvement projects.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A minimum of 4 years of experience in an accounting or finance role is required, along with strong analytical and IT skills.
