As a Risk Officer at AFS Energy, you will support the monitoring of market and credit risks and help strengthen our risk function. You will join an ambitious, international team operating directly from the historic trading floor of the Amsterdam Stock Exchange. The risk function covers market, credit, liquidity, and currency risk and reports directly to the Risk Director and CEO. The Role Risk Monitoring: Support daily monitoring of market, credit, and operational risks across renewable commodities trading desks. Front Office Support: Assist Front Office with trade approvals, counterparty credit checks, and hedging FX exposure. Tooling & Analytics: Help maintain and improve risk tools and reports as a point of contact with the development team. Perform analyses and reports using Excel, SQL, Python, or Power BI. Risk Awareness: Contribute to building risk awareness across departments and support clear risk-versus-reward decision-making. Continuous Improvement: Participate in projects that enhance business insights and reporting accuracy. Professional Growth: Learn directly from the Risk Director and develop practical, high-impact risk management skills. What We Expect Education: Degree in Finance, Econometrics, Maths, or similar. Experience: 2 years of experience in risk, finance, financial markets, or energy trading. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, or Power BI. Languages: Fluent in English and Spanish. Core Responsibilities

The Risk Officer will support the daily monitoring of market, credit, and operational risks while assisting the Front Office with trade approvals and hedging. They will also maintain risk tools and contribute to building risk awareness across the organization.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a degree in Finance, Econometrics, Maths, or a similar field and possess at least 2 years of experience in risk, finance, or energy trading. Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, or Power BI is required, along with fluency in English and Spanish.
