Job Description

We are looking for a motivated all-round workshop technician who can work in an all-round capacity in our Sample & Prototype shop and take part in the process of producing prototype bearings, test samples, prototype setups, and machine parts for various test machines. You will work a self-directed way within a project team together with Researchers and Engineers from different technological departments such as Steels, Ceramics, Polymers, Tribology, Lubrication, Coatings, and Seals. We are looking for someone who is motivated by variety; every day will be different, and the work is highly varied. We are seeking someone with machining skills, for example a combination of CNC turning/milling and conventional machining, who also has a solid mechanical background and affinity with steel alloys in all their aspects, such as heat treatments and microstructure. You will be responsible for the following tasks. Prepare, program, and set up CNC machines on your own (turning-milling machine) Perform turning and milling on conventional machines autonomously. Manufacture test samples (fine mechanical process). Heat treatment processes can be included as a learning track. Requirements: A completed vocational (MBO) education in Fine research tools machining/ Machining / Mechanical Engineering Affinity with conventional machines Experience as an independent CNC Turner / Miller. Good Knowledge in program CNC machines using software such as for example, Esprit, Edgecam. The technician is responsible for preparing, programming, and setting up CNC turning-milling machines to produce prototype bearings and test samples. They will collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams to manufacture machine parts and prototype setups.

Requirements

Requires a vocational education in mechanical engineering or machining with proven experience as an independent CNC turner/miller. Proficiency in CNC software like Esprit or Edgecam and a strong background in steel alloys and heat treatments are expected.
