We are looking for an Indirect Tax Officer to join our Dutch Tax team BNP Paribas in the Netherlands: Combining the strength of an international presence and local know-how. The position you’re applying for/Your new role Do you have a few years of work experience with VAT and ready to take the next step in your career? We are looking for an Indirect Tax Officer to join our small but dynamic Tax Team in the Netherlands. In this role, you will report directly and work closely to and with the Head of Indirect Tax and play a key part in ensuring Dutch indirect tax compliance and efficiency across BNP Paribas Group operations in the Netherlands. This is a broad and varied position where your expertise will contribute to high-impact projects and strategic initiatives. You'll analyze, review and advise all BNP Paribas Group business lines and functions on VAT and other indirect tax matters involving the Netherlands. In this dynamic role you'll tackle complex VAT matters while also developing skills as project management, process optimization and stakeholder engagement. Your Responsibilities Advising a diverse portfolio of stakeholders on VAT and other indirect tax matters. Identifying and assessing VAT risks and opportunities. Supporting complex VAT projects, including partial exemption, international VAT, cross-border transactions, and process reviews. Driving process improvements and efficiency initiatives across all Dutch business lines within BNP Paribas Group. Reviewing VAT returns and providing guidance on VAT registrations and compliance requirements. Representing BNP Paribas towards Dutch Tax Authorities and external advisers. Supporting the Head of Indirect Tax with VAT-training and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Who You Are Proven technical knowledge of EU VAT law and Dutch Indirect Tax (focus on VAT), with the ability to apply it in a practical and commercial manner. At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience). Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in (tax) law or tax economics or finance. Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English. Requirements
Candidates must have 3-5 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in tax law, tax economics, or finance. Proficiency in EU VAT law and Dutch indirect tax, along with excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, is required.
