Job Description

Join Our Team as a Ship Operator at Odin-RVB Europe! Are you an experienced shipping professional with a hands-on approach and a strong understanding of vessel operations? We are looking for a Ship Operator to join our team at our Rotterdam office. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational coordination of vessels and voyages, working closely with ship owners, charterers, agents and other parties to ensure smooth and efficient execution. Tasks and Responsibilities: You will manage and coordinate vessel operations from fixture through to completion, maintaining close communication with all parties involved and responding proactively to operational challenges. Coordinate and monitor the day-to-day execution of voyages Maintain regular communication with ship owners, charterers, vessels, agents and other relevant parties Monitor vessel and schedules, port calls, cargo operations and voyage progress Coordinate voyage instructions and ensure that operational requirements are communicated accurately and on time Follow up on documentation and other operational matters related to ongoing voyages Identify and resolve operational issues and delays in close cooperation with the parties involved Keep internal systems and relevant stakeholders updated on vessel and voyage status Support the chartering team with operational information and follow-up where required Ensure operations are handled in accordance with contractual requirements, company procedures and applicable regulations What you need to be a successful Applicant: For this position, previous experience in ship operations is essential. We are looking for someone who understands the operational side of shipping and is comfortable working in a fast-paced international environment where priorities can change quickly. Minimum 2 years of professional experience in ship operations Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Logistics or a related field Good understanding of vessel and voyage operations, port procedures and shipping documentation Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple ongoing operations simultaneously Proactive and solution-oriented approach to operational challenges Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate effectively with multiple parties Ability to work accurately under pressure and maintain attention to detail Strong sense of responsibility and ownership Fluency in both Dutch and English, written and spoken, is a must.
