As Pastry Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for the following duties: You will be supervising the day-to-day operation of a designated section within the kitchen, overseeing all aspects of food production; Delivering highest levels of quality and precision, preparing dishes in line with recipes and standards; Maintaining highest levels of hygiene and cost control; You will act as a role model and mentor to the junior members in the kitchen brigade, guiding and supporting them in their development. The Pastry kitchen of the Mandarin Oriental Conservatorium, Amsterdam is responsible for all sweet and savory items for our guests. From this kitchen, you work together with Taiko, Ottolenghi, Lounge, In Room Dining and Banqueting. Under the supervision of our Executive Pastry Chef, you have the freedom to experiment and try out new flavours and combinations of products, to raise the bar of our offerings. As Pastry Chef De Partie We Expect From You Recent/current experience in the same position to that of Pastry Chef de Partie for at least two years; Experience through either education or experience in (hotel) pastry kitchens; A passionate and quality-driven approach to cooking; Teamwork, being able to work closely with other culinary teams; Good knowledge of English language (written and spoken); Familiar with hygiene code and HACCP regulations; Ability to work evenings and weekend shifts. Core Responsibilities

You will supervise the daily operations of the pastry section, ensuring high standards of food quality, precision, and cost control. Additionally, you will act as a mentor to junior kitchen staff, guiding their professional development and fostering a collaborative environment.

Requirements

Candidates must have at least two years of recent experience as a Pastry Chef de Partie and possess a strong background in hotel pastry kitchens. Proficiency in English, familiarity with HACCP regulations, and the ability to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends are required.
