Job Description

In a nutshell

Help us get thousands of new customers every week. Picnic is not only redefining how people shop groceries, we are also growing at tremendous pace and continuously expanding — that means our marketing team has their hands full showing people the benefits of shopping with Picnic. Picnic is looking for a detail-oriented and digitally savvy working student to join our Customer Acquisition team. In this role, you’ll help optimize and maintain our consumer website, making sure it is accurate, engaging, on-brand and easy to find. You’ll receive copy from writers and visuals from designers and configure everything into polished web pages, making sure everything is correct, looks great and is ready to go live.

You’ll also keep our existing website up to date by working with teams across Picnic on page updates and new requests, making sure content is implemented correctly and has the right spot on the website. You’ll support smaller SEO initiatives that help increase our online visibility and drive traffic to the Picnic website. This role is a great fit if you have an eye for aesthetics, enjoy working with digital content and like making sure every detail is right.

Tricks of the trade

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: collaborate with marketing, design and tech teams to keep website content fresh and relevant.
  • Content Editing & Quality: edit, proofread, and format web content for accuracy, clarity and brand consistency.
  • SEO Optimization: support SEO efforts by optimizing metadata, headlines and copy.
  • Website Quality Assurance: perform regular quality checks on live pages (broken links, formatting issues, outdated content, redirections).
  • Content Calendar Management: help maintain content calendars and publish updates according to schedule.

Your superpowers

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in either a marketing, communications or business related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and high standards for accuracy.
  • Basic understanding of web best practices and SEO principles.
  • A proactive, can-do mentality and ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Fluent in English. Fluent in Dutch or German is required too, and fluency in French is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with content management systems like Wordpress is a plus.
  • Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics or Figma is a plus.
  • Available for 16-20 hours a week, for a duration of a year.

About Picnic

Industry: Retail

Company size: 5,001-10,000 employees

At Picnic, we’re a team of inventors, builders, dreamers, and best-in-class operators! With our app-only business model and custom-built in-house supply chain, we're revolutionizing the way people buy groceries and eat every day. We're growing across the Netherlands, Germany, France, and beyond. One of the things that makes Picnic different is that we handle almost everything ourselves: from forecasting and building automated warehouses to designing custom electric vehicles and writing our own software. It gives us total freedom to experiment with bold, new ideas (which we do a lot!). We love to challenge ourselves and learn by doing. The best way to grow here? By taking ownership from day one and pushing boundaries every single day. As a diverse team of over 85 nationalities, there’s always something happening - whether you’re into sports, board games, charity work, dancing at our legendary Picnic festival, or licorice tasting (yes, really!). Our scale-up culture means you get to own your work and bring fresh ideas to life. If you’re looking to make a real impact, reach out. We’d love to hear from you!
