Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team that provides consulting services for Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) products and solutions. AEM helps customers organize and manage the delivery of creative assets and other content across digital marketing channels, including web, mobile, email, social media, and video. The AEM consulting team is responsible for providing expert skills in the implementation of the AEM solution offering as well as integrating complementary Adobe enterprise solutions and interfacing with clients' existing IT infrastructure.
As a Technical Consultant, you will deliver high quality consulting services to our growing client base. This includes facilitation of technical requirements gathering, performing solution and application design, and development, testing and installation of Adobe software as required by the project.
The Technical Consultant should have demonstrable experience delivering complex solutions to customers and be able to work both as an individual and provide technical and team leadership within a larger project team, in partnership with a project coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement specific parts of AEM-centric solutions with high quality, following AEM best practices
• Diagnose a client's technical environment and how they use Adobe technology to deliver focused, actionable recommendations
• Work across multiple client engagements and internal initiatives at the same time
• Act as a change agent in the continuous improvement of delivery practices
• Analyze complex project issues, identify solution options, and help present recommendations to clients
• Stay current on AEM and related technologies through ongoing learning
• Mentor and guide newer team members, from onboarding to complex implementation issues
• Capture and share knowledge and standard methodologies with clients and colleagues
Required Skills & Experience
• 2–5 years' experience in Web and/or ECMS technologies
• 2+ years of direct client consulting experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication and client relationship-building skills
• Ability to translate business requirements into architecture, design, and development plans
• Comfort working within Agile/Scrum delivery
• Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (Java)
• Debugging skills across TCP/IP networking, UNIX, HTTP request processing, and SMTP
• Proficiency in at least one current SQL dialect
• Working knowledge of HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, and CSS
• Proficiency in XML and related technologies (DTDs, supporting architectures)
• Experience administering or debugging web servers such as Apache
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
• Knowledge of Sling or OSGi frameworks, JCR API, RESTful principles, or ExtJS
• Experience with Dispatcher or CDNs
• Familiarity with XSLT and XML dialects such as SOAP or WML
Engagement Details
Full-time consulting engagement with Adobe enterprise clients; position may require up to 30% travel.
Work Arrangement
Remote, supporting clients across the United States and Canada. Core collaboration hours are aligned to Central Time (CST).
Core Responsibilities
The Technical Consultant will implement AEM-centric solutions, diagnose client technical environments, and provide actionable recommendations. They will also mentor team members and facilitate technical requirements gathering for complex client projects.
Requirements
Candidates must have 2-5 years of experience in Web or ECMS technologies and at least 2 years of direct client consulting experience. Proficiency in Java, SQL, and web technologies is required, along with strong communication skills and experience in Agile environments.
