Job Description
As a Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role within Suitsupply’s international Finance team at our global headquarters in Amsterdam, driving accurate and timely financial reporting across the organization. This role involves managing month-end and year-end close procedures, coordinating statutory reporting and external audits, and ensuring tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions. You will collaborate closely with finance operations, business stakeholders, and external advisors, while identifying opportunities to strengthen and streamline our financial processes. Your expertise will directly support Suitsupply’s continued growth, safeguarding the integrity of our financial reporting as the business scales globally. What you will do
- Review monthly, quarterly, and yearly close processes, including fixed assets, receivables, accruals, tax accounts, revenue, COGS, and lease accounting under IFRS.
- Perform analytical reviews of P&L and balance sheet accounts, investigating variances and validating financial results.
- Prepare statutory financial statements and support external reporting requirements under IFRS and local GAAP.
- Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, tax specialists, and advisors.
- Ensure tax compliance, including corporate income tax and VAT, and support related filings.
- Manage monthly consolidation procedures and intercompany eliminations.
- Drive process improvement initiatives, such as accounting manual updates, master data optimization, and automation opportunities.
- Support the further professionalization of the Financial Control function.
- Act as a sparring partner for the management team, finance team, operational departments, and external auditors.
- Contribute to sustainability and CSR reporting initiatives.
Who you are
- Experience: Approximately 3-6 years of relevant work experience in a similar position or as an auditor, with a solid background in accounting and/or control.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Technical skills: Strong knowledge of financial statements and external reporting standards (Dutch GAAP and IFRS), with strong Excel skills.
- Soft skills: Analytical mindset, hands-on mentality, result-driven and quality-focused, with a strong team-player attitude.
- Language: Fluent in English, written and spoken.
