Senior Technical Support Engineer
Key Skills
Job Description
Flow Traders is looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join our Enterprise Systems team in Amsterdam. You'll be the first point of contact for end-user technical support — providing remote and on-site assistance across our Windows environment, office infrastructure, and trading floor — while working closely with senior engineers and teams like Infrastructure, Network, Linux, and SRE to deliver end-to-end IT solutions.
What you will do:
- Own end-user tickets end-to-end: logging, prioritizing, triaging, resolving, and escalating incidents, problems, and service requests
- Troubleshoot hardware, operating systems, applications, printers, TVs, AV, and security devices — on-site, remotely, and in the datacenter
- Set up and configure workstations, desks, and office/meeting-room equipment, including cabling for new installations
- Handle onboarding/offboarding, desk setups, and access provisioning, including AD group requests, IT Shop access requests, and IAM attestation reviews
- Support trading floor operations, including high-priority incident response, trader workstation provisioning, and desk relocations
- Monitor Windows systems, servers, VDI, and enterprise applications proactively, and maintain asset inventory and device lifecycle (refresh cycles, fault diagnosis, warranty)
- Manage meeting room, AV, and reception technology across shared areas
- Document knowledge base articles and relay recurring issues and improvement ideas back to platform owners and senior engineers
What you will bring:
- 2-5 years in a similar role, or strong relevant internships
- Solid Windows/Microsoft fundamentals (Active Directory, Exchange, MDM tools) and hands-on hardware/workstation experience
- Strong problem-solving skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to work under pressure and meet SLA targets
- Basic networking knowledge (firewalls, routing), or a genuine willingness to learn
- Self-motivated, structured, and proactive — comfortable owning issues from start to finish
- BSc in IT/Computer Science preferred; ITIL, Jira/Confluence, or IAM/access-management familiarity a plus
- Proficiency in English
Nice to have:
- Azure/Intune or other cloud experience,
- Exposure to Linux systems and networking,
- Mobile Device Management experience
- General interest in infrastructure domains like servers, networking, VDI, and virtualization.
