Job Description

Relocation to the United States — Norfolk, Virginia. We provide the NATO-5 visa.

A multinational defence organisation is rebuilding its electromagnetic operations and warfare capability. This role supports the programme that delivers it, from requirements through to doctrine and validation.

What you would be doing

  • Supporting the development of capability products in this area under the alliance governance model.
  • Supporting the programme director and project coordinators, including work with agencies and nations.
  • Drawing out, capturing, analysing and tracing requirements at every level.
  • Developing and reviewing the doctrinal corpus — policies, doctrine, directives, concepts of operation.
  • Coordinating across all lines of development and proposing courses of action where they conflict.
  • Organising and taking part in workshops, seminars and conferences.
  • Collaborating with national and international organisations, centres of excellence and academia.
  • Maintaining programme status information and supporting capability validation.
  • Identifying lessons and best practice and getting them learned.

What you would bring

  • A master degree or equivalent military college qualification in engineering, information systems, computer science or project management.
  • At least three of the last ten years briefing senior leaders and decision-makers.
  • Five years of operational knowledge of electromagnetic operations or warfare at tactical or joint level.
  • At least two of the last ten years in programme or project management in a complex environment.
  • At least two of the last ten years in a multinational defence organisation.
  • Fluent professional English.

This is a long engagement that renews year on year, not a short project.

Core Responsibilities

The role involves supporting the development of electromagnetic operations and warfare capabilities through requirements analysis, doctrine creation, and validation. You will coordinate across various lines of development and collaborate with international agencies and centres of excellence.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a master's degree or equivalent military qualification in engineering, computer science, or project management. Applicants require at least five years of operational experience in electromagnetic warfare and experience briefing senior leadership.
