Job Description

Ensure safe and cost-efficient vessel operations by inspecting and maintaining complex cargo access systems worldwide. Cargo Care Solutions is looking for a Service Engineer Cargo Access to work from the home base in Barendrecht, the Netherlands. You will report to the company’s Service Manager. ‍ The Job As a Service Engineer at Cargo Care Solutions, you are responsible for maintaining and repairing critical cargo access equipment worldwide. Your main goal is to ensure vessels can operate safely, efficiently, and without unnecessary downtime. Your tasks include performing general inspections and pre-docking inspections of cargo access equipment to verify operational standards. You will also carry out drydocking services and supervise or perform repairs on cargo access systems across various cargo vessel types. ‍ Additional Responsibilities Perform onboard inspections, including checks of fixed lashing components, rest pads, rest pad height, and rubber packing. Prepare detailed pre-docking reports for clients after inspections. Create bills of materials required for service or repair work. Plan maintenance activities together with clients within existing service contracts. During drydock periods, you may supervise hatch cover steelwork and oversee shipyard teams. ‍ Professional Qualifications Technical background (open to both junior and experienced service engineers). Knowledge of and experience with hydraulic systems. Knowledge of steel welding, welding procedures, and steelwork. Ability to assess the quality of steel structures and repairs. Interest in the maritime industry. Ability to communicate clearly and fluently in English. Dutch or other languages are considered an advantage. ‍ Personal Characteristics Strong communication skills. Customer- and service-oriented attitude.
