Employment Type: Contract, Full-time Work Eligibility: Must have unrestricted right to work locally (no visa sponsorship required) Note: This role overlaps with the “Asset Management Engineer” function but focuses more on daily operations and maintenance. Role Overview The Overseas Facility Engineer is responsible for 5×8 on-site IDC operations, ensuring infrastructure stability, system monitoring, incident response, and operational compliance. The role requires prompt response to IT incidents, routine inspections, change management, and collaboration across multi-regional teams. Key Responsibilities Perform 5×8 on-site IDC duties according to client requirements; respond promptly outside working hours for incidents. Update and maintain infrastructure records with 100% accuracy, check platform alarm settings, and monitor system stability. Conduct facility inspections according to Alibaba IDC standards, including status checks, maintenance/repair MOP reviews, and follow-up. Respond quickly to incidents per IT operations incident management guidelines and Emergency Operation Procedures (EOP), reporting all actions. Troubleshoot and restore services for IDC infrastructure, including power supply, HVAC, and low-voltage electrical systems. Utilize knowledge in monitoring, capacity management, security, and availability management to enhance operational efficiency. Independently create and implement change MOPs, ensuring operational changes do not cause incidents. Complete additional tasks as outlined in Service Contracts, Outsourcing Requirements, and related documentation. Educational Requirements Minimum: Full-time associate degree or equivalent. Preferred majors: Electrical Engineering, HVAC, or related technical fields. Experience Requirements Minimum 1 year in IDC operations or related infrastructure maintenance. Basic knowledge of IDC operations, facility management, and IT/telecom infrastructure. Core Competencies Communication: Clear, logical, and polite communication. Collaboration: Ability to work across multiple teams, including remote and cross-language coordination. Management: Multi-team collaboration, meeting organization, and scheduling facility maintenance/repair. Language Skills: Local language + English, or Local language + Chinese.
Core Responsibilities
Responsible for on-site IDC operations, ensuring infrastructure stability through system monitoring and prompt incident response. Duties include conducting facility inspections, troubleshooting power and HVAC systems, and implementing change management procedures.
Requirements
Requires a minimum of one year of experience in IDC operations or infrastructure maintenance and an associate degree in Electrical Engineering, HVAC, or a related field. Candidates must have unrestricted right to work locally and proficiency in English and the local language.
