Job Opening | Trade Officer at TradeIL Netherlands – The Trade & Economic Mission of Israel About TradeIL Netherlands TradeIL Netherlands is the Trade and Economic Mission of Israel in the Netherlands and the official representative of Israel’s Ministry of Economy and Industry, operating under the Foreign Trade Administration. Our mission is to strengthen bilateral trade, investment, and high-tech cooperation between Israel and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. We support Israeli companies in entering and expanding in the Dutch market, while helping Dutch businesses, investors, and innovation partners connect with Israel’s world-leading technology ecosystem. Through business matchmaking, investment promotion, strategic collaborations, and tailored introductions to key stakeholders, we foster sustainable commercial relationships and help translate technological innovation into tangible business opportunities. The Role Are you looking for an exciting opportunity in an international environment where innovation, technology and international business come together? TradeIL Netherlands is looking for a proactive, commercially minded and internationally oriented Trade Officer to join our team in The Hague. This is a dynamic, outward-facing role at the intersection of business development, investment promotion, economic diplomacy and innovation. You will work directly with Israeli startups, scaleups and established companies, as well as Dutch corporates, investors, government organisations, industry associations, universities and innovation ecosystems. The role offers considerable independence and responsibility. You will be expected to proactively identify commercial opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, manage projects from concept to execution, and contribute directly to strengthening economic relations between Israel and the Netherlands. Key Responsibilities Trade Promotion & Business Development (35%) · Identify commercial and investment opportunities between Israeli and Dutch companies, with a particular focus on high-tech sectors. · Identify relevant Dutch customers, distributors, resellers, strategic partners, investors, venture capital funds, family offices and corporate venture capital partners for Israeli companies. · Conduct market research and prepare tailored company-specific target lists. · Advise Israeli companies on Dutch market-entry strategies and commercial opportunities. · Facilitate business introductions and organise one-to-one matchmaking meetings. · Support Dutch companies and investors interested in Israel’s innovation ecosystem. · Follow up on introductions and help translate business leads into concrete commercial outcomes. Delegations, Business Visits & Events (30%) · Organise incoming and outgoing business delegations, company visits, trade fair programmes, conferences, seminars and networking events. · Develop tailored programmes combining company meetings, site visits, institutional engagements and networking opportunities. · Recruit participants and coordinate agendas, logistics, venues and communications. · Prepare company profiles, briefing materials, schedules and background information. · Accompany delegations and ensure effective follow-up after events. Stakeholder & Ecosystem Development (15%) · Build and maintain relationships with companies, government bodies, regional development agencies, investors, venture capital firms, family offices, accelerators, incubators, universities and industry associations. · Represent the Mission at conferences, trade fairs and business events.· Identify opportunities for new strategic collaborations and ecosystem partnerships. · Maintain and expand a strong professional network across the Dutch innovation ecosystem. CRM, Administration & Reporting (10%) · Maintain accurate records of companies, contacts, meetings, leads and commercial outcomes. · Manage the Mission’s CRM system and monitor company pipelines. · Track follow-up actions and ensure timely completion. · Prepare activity reports, meeting summaries and internal updates. · Support the Mission’s administrative and reporting requirements. Market Intelligence & Policy Monitoring (5%) · Monitor Dutch and European market developments, technological trends, regulations and policies relevant to Israeli companies. · Identify opportunities, barriers and emerging sectors. · Prepare concise reports, market analyses and internal briefings. Strategic Briefings & Analysis (5%) · Prepare briefing notes, presentations, speaking points and background materials for senior officials. · Conduct company and sector analyses. · Support high-level meetings with government representatives, investors and business leaders. Qualifications Required · Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Business, Economics, International Relations, Political Science, Public Policy or another relevant field. · Excellent command of English. · Good command of Dutch. · Strong analytical and research skills. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Strong organisational and project-management abilities. · Commercial awareness and the ability to identify realistic business opportunities. · Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. · Professional discretion, reliability and a proactive working style. Preferred · Master’s degree in a relevant field. · Two to three years of relevant experience in business development, trade promotion, investment promotion, economic diplomacy, consulting or international project management. · Knowledge of Dutch market sectors, innovation ecosystems and international trade. · Understanding of international trade processes and basic financial concepts. · Experience with CRM systems, event management and business matchmaking. · Experience with social media and communication activities. · Hebrew language skills are considered an asset.
