Non-Financial Risk Control Specialist End-to-End NFR programme at a large bank in Amsterdam · 36 hours · early October to mid-December A bank in Amsterdam is running a bank-wide non-financial risk programme with a regulator's deadline behind it. A gap analysis on the controls already exists, and so does the preliminary guidance. What is missing is the person who applies it. The seat has been open since June and the team has no time to onboard anyone, so we are looking for someone who has done this before and can start within three weeks. What you will do You take the gap analysis for a selected area and run the clean-up wave. That means redesigning the controls that do not work, rewriting the standards, guidelines and procedures behind them, testing whether the redesigned controls are effective, and getting the changes into the bank's GRC tool. The first-line control owners have to be able to run what you leave behind, so you write the training and the communication as well. You do this yourself. You are not the person who plans the wave; you are the person who closes the gaps. You work with the other workstreams in the programme, the Policy and Risk Type Owners, the BaU risk teams and the first line. What you bring - You have built or rebuilt a non-financial risk and control framework inside a bank, and you can name the process, the controls and what was wrong with them. - Control design and control-effectiveness testing are things you have done, not overseen. - You have worked in a GRC tool day to day. Which one matters less than that you have. - You know how a bank's key processes work. Second line preferred. - You can move between a risk type owner and a first-line team lead in the same afternoon. English is the working language. Dutch is useful with the first line, not required. What we offer Fixed-term employment with BrightStone Group from early October to mid-December 2026, with the option to extend if the programme continues into 2027. We cannot promise that it will. €8,300 to €9,100 gross per month including holiday allowance, on 36 hours. Hybrid, with real office days in Amsterdam. Core Responsibilities

You will execute a bank-wide non-financial risk programme by redesigning ineffective controls and rewriting associated standards and procedures. Additionally, you are responsible for testing control effectiveness, updating the GRC tool, and creating training materials for first-line control owners.

Requirements

Candidates must have proven experience in building or rebuilding non-financial risk and control frameworks within a banking environment. You must be proficient in control design, effectiveness testing, and daily use of GRC tools, with the ability to work independently at short notice.
