Job Description

Marketing Manager at the iconic Amstel Hotel We are seeking a Marketing Manager to join our Commercial team and help bring the Amstel story to life. This is an opportunity for a creative and commercially minded marketeer to shape how the hotel is seen, experienced, and remembered by our guests, partners, and the local community. From brand campaigns and social media to content creation, partnerships, and hotel activations, you will play an important role in strengthening the Amstel’s position within Amsterdam’s luxury hospitality landscape. Your day-to-day • Develop and execute the annual marketing strategy and activity plan, aligned with the hotel’s brand positioning, commercial objectives, and overall business strategy. • Lead the hotel’s marketing activities across digital, social media, content, campaigns, partnerships, PR, and hotel activations, ensuring a consistent and distinctive brand presence. • Take ownership of the hotel’s marketing calendar, identifying opportunities to connect relevant campaigns, seasonal moments, partnerships, and commercial priorities. • Develop creative campaigns and content that showcase the hotel, its people, culinary experiences, events, and unique sense of place. • Manage the hotel’s digital ecosystem, including website content, email marketing, social media platforms, and relevant CRM and marketing tools. • Strengthen the Amstel’s position within Amsterdam’s luxury hospitality and lifestyle landscape through meaningful partnerships, collaborations, media opportunities, and local activations. • Work closely with the Commercial and Operations teams to promote the hotel’s rooms, restaurants, bars, events, and other offerings, driving awareness, engagement, and revenue. • Manage external agencies, creative partners, photographers, videographers, and other suppliers, ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard and in line with agreed timelines and budgets. • Monitor campaign and channel performance, analyse results, and use insights to optimise activity and demonstrate return on investment. • Manage the marketing budget and resources effectively, ensuring activity is commercially relevant and financially responsible. • Ensure all marketing communications meet brand standards while maintaining the Amstel’s distinctive character and identity. • Stay connected to developments and trends in luxury hospitality, travel, lifestyle, culture, and Amsterdam, bringing relevant ideas and inspiration to the hotel. • Support and guide junior colleagues, interns, and external creative partners where relevant, helping to create a collaborative and well-organised marketing environment. What we need from you • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, Business, or a related field. • A minimum of 3 years of relevant marketing experience, preferably within luxury hospitality, lifestyle, travel, or another premium brand environment. • Experience working with digital marketing and CRM platforms, website CMS systems, email marketing tools, and social media management or planning platforms. • A good understanding of visual communication and brand identity, with basic graphic design skills and familiarity with tools such as Canva considered a plus. • Excellent written and verbal English and Dutch communication skills. • A strong eye for detail, visual presentation, storytelling, and brand consistency. • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines. • A creative and commercially minded approach, with the ability to turn ideas into campaigns and activities that deliver measurable results. • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external partners. • Experience working with external agencies, creative partners, media, photographers, or production suppliers is an advantage. • Knowledge of the Amsterdam market and its hospitality, lifestyle, and cultural landscape is preferred.
