About the job

We are looking for a full-time (40 hours per week) Broker to join our physical biofuels team at our head office on the Keizersgracht in Amsterdam. In this role, you will facilitate and optimise transactions across a diverse client portfolio.

The role requires a strong understanding of the biofuels sector, including the ability to spot opportunities, structure, and negotiate transactions. If you are a driven professional with a genuine interest in sustainability and trading, this could be the right fit for you.

Tasks and Responsibilities 

As a member of the Biofuels desk, you will be responsible for generating and structuring trade ideas while managing and expanding your own client portfolio. Strong interpersonal skills are essential to build trust and lasting relationships with both clients and colleagues.

• Deal Structuring & Execution: Leverage strong commercial and communication skills to originate, structure, and mediate transactions with clients. Identify trading opportunities across the global biofuel spot and forward markets.

• Portfolio Management: Manage your client portfolio day-to-day within your assigned product coverage, with consistent, proactive follow-up.

• Performance in a Fast-Paced Environment: Thrive in dynamic, high-pressure settings, bringing structure and clarity to complex, evolving situations.

• Market Analysis: Stay up to date on developments in the biofuel market, including regulatory changes, pricing trends, and emerging project opportunities.

• Excellent command of English; additional languages are a plus.

• Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Econometrics, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

• 1–5 Years of experience in energy markets, environmental commodities, the biofuel industry, or trading is strongly preferred.

• Self-driven and resilient, with the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong analytical and structured mindset, with a natural curiosity for sustainability

• Ability to understand and navigate complex market dynamics.

• Strong commercial mindset with a focus on identifying and closing opportunities.

• Based in the Netherlands (or willing to relocate) and holding a valid work permit.
